Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Amazon.com Has Pit Row Launchers
If you’re looking for the Pit Row launchers, Amazon.com has some in stock.
Free shipping with $25 purchase or if you’re an Amazon Prime member.
You can also pre-order the next Mater Tall Tale Book – since it’s scheduled for July, does it definitely mean the Heavy Metal Mater will definitely air on the Disney Channels before the book arrives?
Ladies & Gentlecars,
Still can’t believe what some of these are going for on Flea-bay. The Haulers and Pit Row launchers I worked on 3 years ago still holding/selling over retail prices? That’s crazy……..
Do you have any prototypes or sketches you can share with us?
It’s good to see you posting here lately. The demand for these Cars shouldn’t suprise you. It’s a great line. The best Disney movie toy line ever, especially for boys. Not that some little girls don’t love them also.
kids have always loved toy cars and character figures. This line combines both into one. Not to mention many Cars are damn nice looking. You and your team have done excellent work.
With DVD players new kids are finding this line everyday. Great movie- great toys.
John’s signed SDCC Mater set signed by you to him means alot to him. Thanks for doing that.
I can’t wait to get more of the Cars you made before you left. Go Pixar Cars! 🙂
I’m not getting too excited about the launchers anymore. I have a strong feeling that between the next two K-Mart Days we’ll see the remaining racers in Synthetic Rubber Tires fashion. I actually prefer these over the regular plastic wheeled versions.
I agree. Since I do not use mine on tracks, the rubber tires are not a problem. They also help keep the Car from rolling off the shelf to it’s doom.
Don’t count on it. Transberry Juice is most likely going to be part of the next KM day, so there may be another 1 or 2 or 3 from KM day 1.
We might have to wait for KM day 6 in June 2011 to get them all.
There are tons of people who read these postings but never comment. I ran into a guy at a local Target and he seemed knowlegable about Cars. He was watching me as I was going through the pegs so I asked him if he collected Cars or just Hot Wheels. He said he collected both so I asked him if he ever went on Take5 and he said yes.
I wish people didn’t make this a business venture. If people just bought what they need there would be plenty of stock out there for all of us. I personally only collect one of each car or if I know someone is looking for something then I’ll get it but very rarely. I’ve stopped buying extras for trade as well. I feel good leaving them behind knowing someone will get excited like I do when you see that latest Final Lap or new Hauler waiting for you on the peg/shelf.
I know the problem but really what can anyone do do fix it? It is legal what they are doing. The fact is, when anything good comes along and people can sense a real collectors need and desire to have such items, certain people are going to jump on it to make money.
I do the same thing with trying to leave Cars on the shelf. For example, I’m leaving Shifty Drug and Vinyl Toupee Haulers on the shelves here, despite what seems a need even on this sites tradeboards. Why not help out members? Well, prices here are 26.99 – 36.99 for a Hauler. Add shipping and I don’t really want to rip off anyone off, even though I wouldn’t be making a cent.
Overall, I try ignore what others do. I have no control and I generally get what I want, through the great people on here prepared to help out. In the end, what profit these people make (or lose) is nothing to me. And I always prefer to think of them as losing out eventually if their heart is not in it for the right reason.
Yeah, my comment wasn’t directed to most members here. I am thankful for the many people I’ve traded/purchased cars from on here. If not my collection would be way behind and I would have to resort to filling the gaps with lenticulars…actually I probably would have just quit collecting.
Putting judgements to the side, it is a service that sellers provide. One which I appreciate if I feel The markup is fair. It’s nice to be able to get new items shipped Right to the door if I am not able to find them myself.
Its the primary reason I originally joined take 5. To acquire the Cars. The hobby isn’t much fun if you can’t get any new Cars. Knowlegable members picking up extras is a great help to many here. In Leaving hard to find Cars on the shelf, I don’t know who will get them. Maybe a real greedy non helpful ebayer. I would rather them go to people I like, who have helped me and other fine members and collectors. I know the members here appreciate the Cars, thats why they are here.
I can honestly say when I trade or sell extras I am not in it for the money. Sure I have made some here and there although I will probably never make back what I have spent and will continue to spend on this crazy hobby. Nowadays I just really like to help people the most. For the time money and packing materials I use, I am lucky to come out a few dollars ahead here and there. I could never do what I do for no markup ever. Most often traders or people who pick up extras for others with too little or no markup cannot afford to do it long and they don’t last.
KD when you picked up the extra Octane Gain sets for me they went to three great members including Eric. I guarantee you no one in that store would have appreciated getting those sets more than the people who got them. No one expects you to do anything for nothing. It would be my pleasure to treat you to a car or two for your help anytime. People helping people is good.
I understand the cost is prohibitive to Matt in Australia but for members here picking up extras and getting them
Into the hands of other members for a reasonable price and without the stress and time of having to go find Cars they want is really helpful.
I can’t help but think of Kevins old line- that he buys all the extras and leaves a note: if you want these go to take 5 a day. Com. 🙂 I think Matt nailed it though: if there hearts in the right place. I know a few great sellers who help alot here. Those are the ones I feel should make some money.
Shoot if someone helps several collectors here a week for not much gain I hope they rich.
I have business cards made for my Utah members that has http://www.takefiveaday.com on it and I leave a few here and there in the stores everytime I go and at the Kmart Day events.
If anyone wants a format to copy for Their Own State Clubs email me and I will send you the pdf file for the cards.

Jack – that’s why I trade at cost and understand a $1 or $2 markup…but $23.99 for a $9.99 item…yeah…I just find something wrong with that. I’ll gladly trade or lookout for items for you Jack or anyone else on here.
$23.99 for a $9.99 item is high, IF you find that $9.99 item in a store and that’s the only thing you buy. However, if you have to buy a case and half or a third of it is Lightning McQueen and Chick Hicks, $23.99 is the price you have to get in order to make any profit.
Thanks KD. Find extras others need and plenty of members here will be appreciative. Most members don’t forget and like to repay help.
Helping each other get the new ones makes the hobby so much better for everyone here.
Also the more of us that get the sought after extras for trading or selling them at a good price actually helps control the price somewhat. No reason for anyone here to have to overpay on other sites if enough members here are distributing them.
Speaking of distribution: Mattel not supplying certain cars to other countries is another huge reason to get extras. It is so unfair to great collectors in other countries to not have these Cars available. They very much appreciate our help to keep up with their collections and be able to make them available to others in their countries.
Now with Mattel releasing certain items overseas months before here, trading our extras for theirs helps members here like never before. It’s much better for cost to do multiple item trades. So we needs more extras than ever.
As far as markups go I totally understand your disgust with what some people try to make off others. Everyone has a limit to what they feel is fair. The good thing is-make friends here and you don’t have those prices.
I will say this though with the costs and fees associated with selling regularly, sellers have to markup higher to come out ahead. Between listing, Ebay and other fees the companies take alot per transaction. Not to mention shelling out hundreds or thousands of dollars to find and buy the Cars.
It is hard work to list, sell, communicate, package and ship multiple orders a day. For someone who enjoys selling and provides professional service
to collectors that perhaps don’t mind spending extra to get any cars they want when they want, there is a need for resellers.
I just never fully understood the negativity or judgements cast on making money reselling toys. Mets once commented on not judging others and it seems like some great advice.
Just avoid the sellers you don’t want to do business with and stick with take 5 a day. This is where serious collectors should be anyway.
hey they even have Octain Gain Lightyear Launcher AND Dinoco Mcqueen Lightyear Launcher
wonder if anyone found Lightyear Launcher Tank Coat
Bought mine weeks ago on Amazon. Nice shape too.
Lucky you, I bought mine and they came all bent!! Terrible packing job!
YES MACEYS SELLS TOYS IN THE KIDS SECTION CHECK IT OUT IF YOU HAVE ONE NEAR YOU
Too late. Price is too high for Sputter Stop. Guess I’ll wait until they get more in @ $9.99 🙁
Next time I have an order, I’ll add on the Mater Tall Tales book though.
Yeah totaly awesome stuff – those launchers rock the world of Cars!!! Gotta say though – I am not too impressed with the Rock ‘n Roll mater!
The price depends on if it’s sold by Amazon or through another online retailer who also is registered to sell on Amazon. I recognize TFAD sponsors and eBay retailers as selling on Amazon at often a significantly higher price, such as $39.99 (down from $43.50) for the 2010 Collector Guide with Dragon McQueen with metallic paint (US version) and launchers for $26.99 or higher.
Yes it’s funny how the Disney Cars collector and seller community is a tight knit one. Most Cars collectors either know of each other or someone that knows of someone else.
There are many different types of collectors, traders, sellers and buyers.
If you stay around long enough you will come across all types.
I have also seen take 5 members selling on Amazon. Take 5 members usually love the Cars and are very knowledge. They also spend a ton for their own collections, so getting some back seems fair.
I will say that of these sellers, I really appreciate the ones who help others here with trades and do a nice job of balancing trying to make some money and helping other members at a very modest markup. It’s a tough line to tow. Some people will still try to be critical of any sales where some money is made, no matter how many others you have helped while hardly making anything.
Selling to the general public isn’t easy. It’s alot of work. I tried it for awhile but it wasn’t really for me. I perfer to only do business with friends and people I know. Trading with other members for cars we both need or buying new releases for a modest markup are my favorite deals. That and sending big boxes overseas to friends where certain cars are not available.
I do have to list a few Cars on Ebay soon as I really need to sell some extras but I am looking foward to it.
However there are other Amazon or Ebay sellers that just come here and use take 5 to get the latest information and never post, help others for non eBay prices or do equal trades.
Those are the ones I avoid.
The helpful take 5 members are the ones I like to see make money. They deserve it. Plus the more they make-the more they can help other members. The good take 5 sellers are generous to other members. Those are the ones I like to see doing well as opposed to the type that list high prices on everything always and never help anyone here ever.
By the way Chris- As a good member here you don’t have to pay eBay prices if myself or a friend can help. Please feel free to Email me if you ever need anything. I will be happy to try and get you the new releases at slightly above cost.
Well put Jack.
When the Sputter Stop launcher first showed up on Amazon a couple of weeks ago it was priced at $9.99 also. They quickly ran out of stock at that price and it went up to $26.95. I was kicking myself because I hesitated. It looks like the same situation has happened again. I would counsel patience. They will come back. Oh yeah, I did not hesitate this time!
