Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Next TRU 5-Pack Box Set (UPDATE)
Well, it doesn’t have a TRU ONLY sticker but presumably so … Flo’s V8 Cafe Gift Pack.
And yet, HUGE surprise – the previously unheard of “Hank Hallsum.”
Well, previously unheard of in the sense that he has appeared on no previous lists, is not on the official Final Lap or Lenticular list and has never appeared in a CARS book; not in the collector guides and not in the Blu Ray Finder game … other than that, he is our favorite blue CAR … named Hank.
Humm, oh where, oh where have I seen him before. It’s like he has other names and is like another CAR … Chuki? humm, no … PT Flea? Al Oft?
Without Hank, there is NO CARS – Dude, how could you forget?
We should probably see it pretty soon as there is a LENTICULAR 3-pack with Flo with Tray & Waitress Mia & Waitress Tia coming next.
UPDATE: whoops, forgot Flo with Tray is scheduled as a Final Lap single also.
No schedule for lenticular Hank … but what’s a 5-pack without an exclusive CAR? 🙂

If there were taglines or reviewer quotes to be posted on boxes, it would read:
“The best new CARS Exclusive since Sarge’s Boot Camp.”

Yes nice idea about the taglines but I believe this is an even better set than Sarges boot camp. Waitress Mia & Tia and Flo with tray are awesome mainstream character variants. The first variant of Flo( not counting crazy eyes) ever made I believe. I think this set will fly off the shelves. I really like this one.

I wonder how long before someone finds a “repackaged” Flo’s V8 Cafe 5-pack with McQueen, Doc, Mater, Sherriff, and Ron Hover. It always perturbs me when someone buys a gift pack and does the old switcheroo before returning it.
Mattel needs to treat these, and other Cars packs, as McFarlane does with their sports figures, etc., and use “tamper tape” to seal the boxes.
Of course, you still need employees who are aware that they need to check for tampered-with seals and enforce a no-return policy for products with such anti-tamper seals that have obviously been broken.
I didn’t know there were other McFarlane collectors on TFAD. 😀

Ahhhhh, but these aren’t the old days, these are current day! This scene is at the end of the movie, after Lightning moves his racing operation to Radiator Springs.
However, Mater SHOULD be rusty, not new, as “Brand New Mater” was seen in the “flashback” scene when Sally is telling Lightning about the good old days.
Also, being present-day, Mia & Tia are in this scene correctly.
4 new cars? Awesome! Thank goodness they don’t have the my eyes suck thing.
I think Mattel is loosing it….instead of releasing Albert Hinkley, they give us who? Hank Hallsum? And while Tia, Mia and Flo w/trays are nice, how about releasing more important cars from the movie?
Very simple….Hank can be produced using an existing die cast form(as with all of these), so it’s a money maker across the board!
Mia, Tia, Mater, Flo, and Hank are all recycled from previous releases, so they don’t have to spend any money on new manufacturing.
Time to get out the magnifying class and research each frame to locate any previously unrecognized Car. Maybe the Flo Cafe playset needs to be revised or have the covered drive in area revised to accommodate more Cars. Maybe an extension set?
Fantastic, can’t wait. And 4 new cars and Mater doesn’t get any better.

Wow has anyone found this yet in the wild. This is a great set and can’t wait to find it. I do find it odd of all additions they added Mater and not New Mater seeing as this is the flashback scene I believe.
All in all though great and a must buy. I agree with Samuel on this one you can always use another Mater.
This isn’t a flashback it is at the end after McQueen sets up shop. This is the sequence when you see Leroy with the huge tires.
