Lego: You Can Class Up Your Office
So, while we wait for the CARS Duplo’s coming in June, how about building the Taj Mahal … um LITERALLY.
Nearly 6,000 pieces … and on sale at the Lego Store.
Or maybe you want to start simpler … Lego has a new Architecture line … the Guggenheim?
Frank Llyod Wright’s famous Fallingwater House?
Or their starkly minimalist Empire State Building, John Hancock, Sears (Willis) Tower & the Space Needle.
I don’t know how to make a King Kong Lego but a Chewbacca should work, right?
Or if you’re collecting just the figures …
They are starting to offer vintage sets of figures and even a very cool carrying case! Has pegs to hold characters without falling over!
Or of course, you want this to with the Taj Mahal …
The FIRST SHIP EVER seen, the Blockade Runner from the opening scene of the original Star Wars – who can resist “You are part of the Rebel Alliance and a traitor. Take her away!” 🙂
Of course, now we know who the real leaders of the Rebel Alliance are 🙂
Did you know you can download free software to design what you want and they will put together the bricks you need to build your own DESIGN BY ME? Or PICK A BRICK to buy only the ones you need?
Or most of the sets shown above are available at Amazon HERE or HERE at the Amazon Lego Store.
Clicking on the links and of course, then buying something helps supports TakeFive – so thanks!
Yeah i did too. I sold all my cars and bought lego, but still saved a few 🙂
and heck with the software we can just build cars LOL.
Awesome products. My daughter’s engineering drawing teacher would love these.
MATTEL:
r u listening? this is supposed to be a site discussing your toys, but instead we r talking about LEGOS b/c u can’t pruduce, distribute, etc. me and my son love legos too, and the awesome thing about them is that u can always find them in the store!
I second that and I couldn’t have said it any better! Where are the CARS?
ive actually given up with cars and now put all my monies towards buying lego 🙂
so take that mattel! take some bussiness advise from the lego group!!!
Saw those architecture sets at the Lego store last month when we went to Disneyland. For the money, I’d expect the Space Needle to look a little more accurate.
A little more size too — these building are all around 9″ tall — how about 6′ tall!
(MET: PICK A BRICK here to buy as many different color bricks as you need … or download the free software to figure out how many you need … so, what, we’ll check back in two weeks? I expect to see a pic of you next to your Sears Tower? 😆 ).
thanks for the link to the report which ties all the loose ends up from EpIII and prepares them for EpIV,
it all makes sense now!
but one thing i dont get….in EpI-III R2D2 has rocket jets in his legs,
yet in EpIV-VI he doesnt use them at all (in IV he can be seen clumsily ‘walking’ down some steps)
(MET: Didn’t have time to stop by 7-11 for booster shot of fuel? 🙂 ).
I’m getting the Toy Story 3 Lego sets!
Comicon has lots of Lego exclusives from minifigs to sets, very cool!
I would love the Taj Mahal but it is a really tedious build. I have the Empire State Building on my desk. Minimal but still cool.
Lego Star Wars is making quite a run in my house right now. If anyone else is going though this I recommend the lego magnet minifigures that you can buy directly from lego’s web site. The are pricey at $15 for 3 figures but they are completely real minifigures that can be taken apart and all the like. The figures are hard to find and typically only come in the more expensive +$50 lego sets.
(MET: Working on that post already 🙂 ).
YES, we ARE going thru this right now in our house too. Luckily we have a Lego Store near us and yes we bought all the magnet sets to get the “Dudes” as my kids call them. We’re playing the Lego Star Wars video game so they know more of the characters now. We also played Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Batman. All totally fun
Lego Star wars has been rampaging my house too, for about a year and half now…we just had a lego birthday party for my son (now 7) and he received 7 sets of legos and no duplicates. Atlantis was a big series this year–power miners too…Grandma is giving him the exclusive x-wing for his brithday this coming weekend…it comes with Han Solo…something he’s been wanting for ever…
I have a TRU exclusive chrome storm trooper NIP if any one has anything nice to trade for him!
I NEEEEEEEED that Sears Tower!
(“Willis Tower” is as inane as “Spare O Mint”)
I want Fallingwater! Is it 1/55 scale?
The size of these are very small…
The Falling Water set is quite nice…it actually slides apart so you can understand the different planes…
The tower sets are really small…about 9″ or so…it is hard to get the detail intot hese sets that they deserve..
No that figure carrying case is pretty cool!
Back in the 60’s I was taking Architecture Drafting and our class had to re-draw the plans and then build a 1/4″ = 1′ scale model out of Balsawood – of Wright’s Home. Dash, dash, dash, meant hidden lines, and were there ever lines that were hidden. My HERO!
Wish they’d have had these when I was a kid.
