Disney Pixar CARS: Disney Store CARS – UPGRADE!
The Disney Store CARS singles have gotten a nice upgrade … of course, the townies have been around since 2006 and last year, they were joined by some of the Piston Cup racers with more hopefully to come … they were on nice functional cards – straightforward designs – beating Mattel to the 360 clear design by years …
But now, they have seriously UPGRADED!
STACKABLE display cases! For only a dollar more than the hanging peg design. Only $6.50 USD.
You can see, each box even has a very cool little ramp design …
It seems most every CAR has not only a unique nameplate but a personalized back card art …
Well, he is technically still Lightning …
Great background art on the Dinoco Helicopter.

Their bud Boost does not seem to have made the first release but maybe what Kevin got to photograph is simply not everything … apparently they are scheduled for release WEDNESDAY so call and check your local Disney Store on Wednesday. Some people have reported a few trickling out …
So, the “missing” townies appear to be: Boost, Doc, Fillmore, Guido, Lizzie, Luigi, & Sally … who have all been released previously either on the hanging cards singles, in a box set or in the giant box set …
Boost was never released as a single?
So, maybe we’ll start seeing more Piston Cup racers released? And with a display box?

I just received a package of Cars I ordered last week. Unfortunately the box arrived in very poor condition and the cars inside weren’t much better.

think I am headed for the Disney Store today–to check them out and most likely purchase a few. They look “SWEET”. There is a store where I live and one close to where I work. If any one lives in Colorado-they know of one in the Aurora Mall and one at Flatirons Mall.

I believe that these are Liberty Diecasts cases in he last two photos.
the others are no longer being made. After 200 of them I bounced because of crappy glue and finger prints on the mirrors, that company no longer makes them. I had 50 left and sold a few to TFAD people that wanted them.
I found out who the manufacturer is for the last two cases pictured in the above link…

OH this sucks big time. I just bought all the missing Disney ones I could find online. I would have gladly paid extra for these fancy boxes. Uggh uggh and triple uggh.
What’s worse is I can’t even find some of these since they weren’t online and NO disney anywhere close.
Boost has been seen on eBay so I think he may have come out as a single.

I recieved a call from my local Disney Store to come down and check them out, I went down there and was totally blown away. SUPER nice cases. No Boost no Fillmore theres 12 to a case and was not allowed to photograph the carton.
If anyone wants to view these pics in greater detail I will be happy to share the pics as long as they will not be used for ebay or other auction sites.

These look really nice but still not going to start another line. Anybody know any store that just sells cases like these? I would like to put all my collection in cases like these. I bought a Target Baseball display case about a month ago or so and finally put it on my Bluray Mcqueen. Looks nice 😀
Hobby Lobby stores sell a 6-pack of clear acrylic display cases that hold the 1:55 scale cars quite nicely. Every other week, they run a 40% coupon that makes them very affordable(probably around $4-$5) when you need a lot of them. The first cars I put in them were my Blu-Ray McQueen and my custom #7 John Elway car(customized McQueen).
They also have several other sizes of display cases, from a baseball size to 1:18 die-cast, or even a basketball.

Are these the jeweled cases? angled on the top on 4 sides?
Yes, and the four intersections of the sides are that way as well.
The only 3 problems I found with them was they usually are beatup even before I got them out of the package, couldnt photograph them with the beveled edges it wouldnt hold Rollin’ Bowlin Mater, Rescue Maters etc.

I will definitely get these but only because I have the future coupon of 40% off one total purchase for pre ordering the platinum version princess and the Frog porcelain doll/BR DVD combo.
i talked to manager who goes to all the meeting and whatnot of future items etc. and she specified once they sell out they may not be back and they do not plan on making the racers in these or any additional racers in the future. what a bummer
Too many Mattel items still on my “wait list”, not getting into a second line, and another scale, just for flashy packaging.
That’s why I make my own dioramas.
Here are a few things about them:
1. Disney Store painted Mater wrong!
2. Why is Crusin McQueen called Lightning McQueen?
3. How did they get the Dinoco Helicopter to fix in his box?
4. Sheriff’s visor looks nice
5. Where the heck are Sally and Fillmore from that huge box set?
6. Boost and Lizzie weren’t even in the giant box set!
MY disney store has these, only supposed to be 8 stores that do as a test thru march, no racers are forthcoming, she let me read the stores planagram and info on these to tell customers, right now they are 2 for 12 bucks also no Sally and they call Crusin Cruiser for some reason.
well I haven’t bought a single disney store car yet, but that’s gonna change real soon!!!
Once again, the Disney store shows up Mattel. These look nice. Hopefully they can sell the cases by themselves.

these look great!! we bought the racers and a few others before , but i really like the cases on these 🙂 jeff did the hotwheel stackables a while back and they look really sweet! so i bet these will too! 🙂
No worries about card backs… just scratches and broken cases..
these are great, but I am so committed w/ Mattel line that I can’t start another one. however, it would be nice if Mattel took a few lessons from Disney and learned how to produce, distribute, communicate in a reasonable fashion.
Damn, another one of my ideas stolen again! I have been buying the HOT WHEELS cars that come in clear cases for years, so I can house my Complete Stackable Set, (MOST WITH RUBBER TIRES) plus wayyyyyyyy over a hunderd other CUSTOMS. YEP Custom GASK-ITS, APPLE, TACH-O-MINT, and of course Lizzie’s Husband STANLEY; and yes even a Evil McQueen No# 666. To bad no one @ Disney came up with the idea of selling a (6) SIX pack of clear cases that would fit the SMALL cars already out. “IF YOU ARE READING DISNEY – It needs to be long enough for Red/TEX wide enough for Mater, and high enough for the Tractors. Then the SECOND SIZE needs to be, well hopefully you get the idea.
Eat my dirt mattel with your googly eyed versions and piss poor distribution. These rock….. I may have to step out of retirement to collect this line.

I bought the oversized Frank, the 2 light up Tunerz sets, and the 8 racers… While the new packaging is a nice touch, I’m not going to collect them all…
I really like these. It’s going to be hard (as Mater would say) “ta not to” collect them all!
