Mattel operates 9 retail stores as ‘outlet stores.’
As with any outlet store, selection will vary …
A different store has no Mini’s or 3-packs …
But a large collection of short cards …
And you can find some interesting things …
Or the only-last store in the US with a multiple selection of these (not clearanced) – regular priced …
And Wally Haulers at $13.99 as long as you don’t mind a giant sticker over the words ONLY AT WALMART or a giant black marker mark …
Though no surprise, plenty of these at every store …

No Matty versions … yet? (This post has an explanation of the difference) between the retail version (above) and the Matty version.
As ScoobyDoo pointed out, the Matty version now says “Gone For Good” which seems odd they would ALL sell out at the same time … so they might be “transferred” over to the Mattel outlet store? Or sold to a liquidator and then appearing in stores like Ross or Big Lots … or dumped overseas – most likely South America where labeling laws are less restrictive (unlike Europe where it can’t just be in English).
These are still available … I have a feeling these will still be here when the 15th anniversary of the DVD rolls around 🙂
As it’s an outlet store, selection and stock will vary but you can call ahead – store locations with phone numbers are here.
If you’re planning on going to the CITY OF INDUSTRY one, “AF” points out that the Google mapping version of where the store actually is is off by about 3 MILES East so go further west … otherwise you might be cursing Mattel … now that would be a first … 🙂

Note:
as long as you don’t mind a giant sticker over the words ONLY AT WALMART or a giant black marker mark …
those stickers can be easily removed by using rubbing alcohol, but not to long of time.
The store in this area doesn’t mark up the stickers.

The Mattel Store here has put the 1:24 Cars on sale before, down from the $44.99 price.

I was there las week and only saw hundreds of 1:24 cars and those lane mates…none of the Wallys, Car Toons or Christmas stuff…grrrrr!!

man I was out in CA last week and had no idea there was a store near San Diego. I wish I would have had this post during my trip as I would have stopped by to check out the inventory!

I found a Chase Ramone “with metallic” finish yesterday at WM; I thought Chase King was supposed to be out first?
(MET: King is next. Ramone is the last non-lenticular CHASE).
I found the lenticular chase King at Walmart. I never did see the chase Ramone despite checking regularly. Somehow shiny Ramone got skipped!
West Texas needs some of these forget target!
We’ve got stores that haven’t even had their first case of the “skyline” card backs, yet the “outlet stores” have them in mass quantities?

how bout buy anything in the store, stick of gum, whatever, and get 10 Speed Racer cars free
last couple of times I went to the Ft. Worth store it was wiped out besides ‘The Batman’ figures and Speed Racer. Cars section had a few of the large plastic Lightning Storm McQueens. The google directions were wrong for that store also.
Still haven’t had a chance to check out the Richardson store. It is closed on Sunday and Monday, the only free days I usually have.
Is the Richardson store the one over by Allen? I think I drove by that one on the way to the outlets.
I’m waiting for the “Carsland Outlet Store”. I guess that will be at least a couple of years from now?

This would be like a tourist atraction in Orlando! Bring it on …. we have so many ouitlet malls it would fit right in. 🙂
