Not trying to insult anyone here, just pointing out that this blog needs correcting. that is all. I am a big fan of Met.
How can announced “speculation” be wrong? Besides this information was posted on the shopping report hours before the need to announce it here. Don’t worry Rob the author has already felt it necessary to announce this information on another site as well. I guess some people just feel the need to act as if they know information first, even when they are infact way behind. Many of us got an Email on this at 9:00 AM. It’s the old ” look what I know first thing”, I guess. A big thanks to Sam who gave us a heads up before the eBay listings. Now it’s time to find them and doing what we should be. Enjoying the Cars.

Finally Jay Limo! Even though he was not on the case D cardbacks, he is on ebay on Final Lap cardback.
The first line of this post says “It’s not 100% confirmed but it is believed the three NEW CARS of Final Lap Case E are [Jamie, Johnnie, and Lightning McQueen with Cone]”, so I wouldn’t exactly say ‘this blog post is incorrect’.
I’m still wondering about Vern. All the versions on eBay are lenticular-eyed.
Plus, why has it taken so long for them to produce any of the cars with the camera appendage?
I stated it before and I’ll state it again: I won’t be collecting Cars 2. 4 more years of scouring non-stocked shelves and non-existent product (let alone lenticular eyes)…not for me, boy.
I finally found case D here in chicago. I went to a dif. target that doesn’t have the construction going on. and yep, those babies where there. Glad to know I got a chance to get them, now that E is comming out.
Met. Are these Final Lap new releases eventually going to be released as Lenticular singles? Looks like that may be the only way to get those around here. The stores are not even getting enough Final Laps in to even tease us.
(MET: That seems to be the plan).
A couple of things that really makes me wanna scream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1- Mattel is picking favorites(Target more than anyone)
2-Final Lap is too hard to find
3-Mattel is releasing these final laps way too fast (Not too bad but since they are not producing a lot and will not be seen again except for lenty but i hate those)
4-Mater’s Tall Tales is going super slow!!
5-Apple isn’t here yet!
6-The errors and mistakes
7-I waited for Richard for how long??
8-Lenticular
9-There are hardly any Miltons but there can be 30 svens
10-Promos

I have been collecting these for my son for the last 3 years and recently I have been more and more disappointed. The quality has gone from die cast to a plastic feel. Do they have any metal any more?
After recently finding Donna Pits, Nick Stickers and one eye Mater, I will just get the remaining 3 from the Final Lap Collection and QUIT. NO MORE CARS Die-Cast/Plastic.
I hopefully should have my little guy hooked on Johnny Lightning cars, soon.
Another MCQUEEN! Wow just like we all wanted just cant wait for more MCQUEENS!!!!!! :->

Hey Met – Any signs from Matty at NY Toy Fair this past weekend?
(MET: High Dive Mater was displayed! :-/ … BigMatt56 was there and has sent along photos, I’m out on the road (not in NYC) so no pics until next week but not much CARS news from TF).
I am utterly underwhelmed by these.
No crashed mood springs??? soooo dissapointed, was looking forward to that as seen them on e-bay for weeks now, Jamie and johnny lame but as my son is jamie will need two lol, Just remember no final lap cars at all that i have seen in UK so could be worse guys.
Don’t worry, Crashed Mood Springs will be in Case F.
I still haven’t found Case D yet. When are these coming out?
Around here we have 20-25 pegs of lenticulars, and at least 20 pegs of EMPTY final laps at my most reliable Target. It has been that way since the FL series came out. They might get one case in and it goes that quick. I dont get it since the pegs are empty – or nearly – but they never order any. What is the big mystery surrounding Final Laps? Are there thousands of cases in warehouses somewhere or are they just very limited production? I go to 5 Targets semi-regular and its pretty much the same at all of them.
I just found out from a store manager that they will not reorder new cases of final laps until the pegs go down to four or less, then the computer will trigger a reorder. Of course that is dependent on if the amount shown by the computer matches the real stock. Most of the time the computer shows more than what is on the pegs.
I got a printout yesterday of all Targets in this area,
All 9 stores have stock ranging from 9, 22, 8, 21, 12,18,12,8 in their computer. Mostly Mcqueens, g. ramones, costanzo, pit crew sarges, chick hicks. Only 2 of them actually had the number that the computer showed they have.
So I don’t expect to see any coming. Its the computer ordering system that Target uses. Very conservative.
You should buy EVERYTHING from 7 of those Target’s, and then return them all to the 8th one, but make sure it’s the one you visit least frequently. Then check out the first 7 several days later. 😉

one one side we have people who can’t find them at all/ then on the other side we have people who buy every last one of the new ones. it all depends on when u r going to the stores. for target everything comes in a TRUCK to the store. shocker huh lol. for who it may help or hurt. i find most of my final lap early sunday morning. at least thats when i’ve been finding most of them. i have not seen a final lap case sit on the shelves for more than 48 hrs. but thinks do vary from state to state. if u really want them figure out when the TRUCK shows. and only cheack on theses days. reason for my post is to save some gas and TIME for some hope this helps. thx HAPPY HUNTING -flop

How boring are these three cars? I get it now, they are spitting over the edge of the seating area. Funny! Definately would have been better with spit in their mouths
I agree. I think they are milking it now. There are so many more exciting cars they could have sculpted, these are definately the wet firecrackers of the bunch so far.
Maybe Mattell is trying to get more money out of our pockets by making a spitting variant later on?
I wish the cars had the pursed lips and the spit…that would make them way more exciting!
I had no idea who Johnny and Jamie were until this post. To feature such obscure characters is pure silliness. I have a better idea: Pixar & Mattel should have a contest where fans can create their own character. The winner would get to voice one line for their character in Cars 2, AND the winning entry would become a mainline single.
Just found Case D on the pegs this morning, a nice surprise for once!

what happened to race damaged mood springs, vern and wet lightning mcqueen? these are the next 3 on the final lap cardback which they seem to have been following. and i’ve seen quite a few mood springs on ebay which seemed to have left the factory back door??

I’m predicting June at the earliest here in the midwest. There have been reports of Case C in the outlying suburbs…but haven’t seen any evidence, just talk.
I’m also raising an eyebrow at the idea for ‘Cone McQueen.’ Why not ‘Leaf Face McQueen’ or ‘Drenched McQueen?’ I’m still surprised that in terms of Final Laps, Muddy McQueen is not a peg-warmer.
Muddy McQueen was actually very well done. I’m not a multiple McQ person, but I did like him and so did the clerk who brought him out to me.

I think they could of added another cone falling off by his bumper, because in the movie, the cones come a little more frequently than one at a time dont they? Or did Mattell just decide to save a penny or two by making it the “first cone” to hit lightning……. 🙁 (dont mean to be critical:))

Yeah, Target could get so much more money if they simply ordered more cases and fixed these HORRIBLE distribution problems, I haven’t even seen Chick Hicks or the king on final lap yet!! All I see is Radiator Springs Mcqueen!
By the way, MET: are they coming out with Vern, Race Damaged Mood Springs, or Jay Limo on final lap any time soon, I see them on the backs of the cards, on ebay, but NOT on the upcoming cases.

Case E….. Where is Case B on the shelves? It truly looks like each Target gets one case of each, and that is it. Good luck to you all in finding these.
