Disney Pixar CARS: Red is Bad … And That Ain’t Good
As a few people have complained and now confirmed by “LCC-20” who bought a bunch to test out …
The latest batch of RED from the Disney Store ain’t so good …
These are the Disney Store Red (the Fire Engine) with this production & date code …
If it’s open, it’s on the bottom of the truck and if it’s still sealed or you’re at the store looking at one, avoid the DATE & PRODUCTION above.
When you apply minimal pressure on the back end …
The back axle folds up and snaps like a twig under a fat man holding an anvil and a drum of lard.
Ay carumba!
We ain’t seen that much shrinkage since the the ice fishing lake rescue of a naked Danny DeVito and a naked greased up Ed Asner.
What, you don’t remember the scene from the James Bond movie, “The Red Fire Engine Spy Who Loved Me” when they Lotus folded up its tires and became a tiny sub?
Or sir, perhaps more playtime for your kids and less lard chips?
Yes, the Disney Store will accept it as defective … with a receipt … unless they begin a recall. …
So, if you’re hankering for a RED, look carefully to avoid a bad batch …
First, Sarge, my Toyota, my Mr. Propane Action Figure and now RED …
Thanks for the info & pics, “Nikko,” & “LCC-20.”
“What, you donโt remember the scene from the James Bond movie, โThe Red Fire Engine Spy Who Loved Meโ when they Lotus folded up its tires and became a tiny sub?” Was that a real movie?
That is so sad!
The funny thing is that Red will never say anything about it… He would rather cry and run away than deal with the issue!!!
Thanks for keepin’ us in the know yet again Dudes!! LCC-20 – You rock! So cloak and dagger,eh? Buyin’ test cars and provin’ your theory right!!! Way to go!
Such a wonderful community of toy lovin’ Dudes!!!
As Simon from Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel would say: That is so 1976!
And I thought Mattel was bad ๐
Now can we have a Ransburg Red please? ๐
get this email i received today after emailing ds about future release Cars.

message: i actually have a question about
whether or now you plan on
releasing more Cars in the single
packs as far as the racers from
the movie because i would rather
collect your cars than the mattel
version and i know a lot of
others with me on that.please
respond
??????they do not have any single racers in there line???????????????????ummm okkkkkkkk guess this associate has no clue .any idea why such a dumb repsonse MET?
Let’s not forget that these are not Mattel, so long-term quality might not be of the same caliber. Different manufacturing, different longevity?
its all cheap crap made in China
I was actually wondering if Red is a Toyota, and damaged his tires upon sudden acceleration.
We had this happen with almost ALL the disney store cars that came in the 20 gift pack we got our son for Christmas! He didn’t really play with them much he prefers the smaller ones from Mattel, and wasn’t ruff on them so I think it’s an overall quality issue and won’t buy anymore of those. They are being banished to the backyard toy box since they are gonna get wrecked either way. The Disney Store Dinoco helicopter carry case was broken while taking it out of the box! Tail snapped right off!!
“Oh know, Sid!”
What else will we find in the sandbox
I remember, as a kid, pulling the back wheels of some of my Hot Wheels and (Superfast)Matchbox cars downward enough to bend the “wire” axle slightly, giving the car a “jacked up” look. Worked especially well with Camaros and other muscle cars.
Ahhhhhhhh, the memories! ๐
OH MY GOD! You guys actually OPEN THESE? I thought they were only for looks… What not shelf warmers! lol
they are only for looks …
you see what happens when you try to play with em ….
T371-8696-4-0976 is the production date on ours, purchased last summer.
Is that a later production date than those in question?
*We tried to ask Red, but he just starts crying, then drives off!
(MET: Presuming the last part is the production date, your looks like 76th day of 09 while the flawed ones are 09280).
Did the tires on the DeLorean do this in one of the “Back to the Future” movies before it flew away?
Let’s not forget George and his shrinkage problem:
George: Well I just got back from swimming in the pool. And the water was
cold…
ย
Jerry: Oh… You mean… shrinkage.
ย
George: Yes. Significant shrinkage!
ย
Jerry: So you feel you were short changed.
Although not to that extent, this has also happened to the piston cup racers I got for my son.
I actually had this happen with a Sally and I think some other Cars I got from the Disney store, I thought maybe my little guy was a little to tough on them…maybe not?
That is what happend with my one too. Thought the same thing, maybe Diego gave him a hard tour but now thwt i see that…no wonder…. I was thinking making him a Muster truck but i haven’t get any help about my questions here how i can do that :-((
“We ainโt seen that much shrinkage since the the ice fishing lake rescue of a naked Danny DeVito and a naked greased up Ed Asner.”
Thanks, Met, I just lost my breakfast. ๐
Maybe Red has been hangin with Ramone too much – got some hydraulics in the rear – LOW AND SLOW……….
Or the pittys from Tokyo Mater did some MODIFICATIONS!!!
๐
Either those two or he got bored while watching Avatar.
