Disney Pixar CARS: Fabulous Hudson Hornet
“I am Speed” found a new Johnny Lightning Fabulous Hudson Hornet.
This is based on the a real stock car from the 1950’s … it seemed to have been raced with a variety of colors but this one does match the photo & story of the “real” Fabulous Hudson Hornet of 1951 …
It is in 1:64 scale …
And missing some appropriate sponsor stickers.
Thanks for the heads up & pics, “I am speed.”
Got this today at wal-mart best $2 I’ve ever spent. Thanks for letting us know about this car.
My store had 2 more if anyone wants one.
Here is a link that shows a blue HORNET;

The link Met provided, also linked to the actual car used to create Doc Hudson. Great story. Wonder if its true there are only 5 left in the country as one commentor said.?
These were made a few years ago in 1:18th scale by Highway 61. The #6 1952 Fabulous Hudson Hornet was driven by Marshall Teague.
In other news, Pixar’s Up just won a golden globe for best animated movie, proving once again how great the guys at Pixar are. A great film, well deserved.
They won for Best Original Score as well, and the composer was more excited that Paul McCartney said “Go Mike” to him. Brilliant!
I wonder if the Doc’s #51 might really be 5+1 = 6?
Doc Hudson is a 1951 Hudson Hornet.
Wow! That is something different. Quite cool too.
They also made one which was blue just like our beloved Doc. Still no eyes though…
I have a couple of these. I fund them a few weeks ago. There is a white lightning version too. I think that will be really hard to find.
We have one , got it for xmas.
Doc is soooo much better!
Awesome. I would love to have this.
So cool! but so weird to see it without eyes!
…and a steering wheel!
