Disney Pixar: Toy Story & Toy Story 2 Blu Ray Coming March 2010
You can preorder the 2-disc TOY STORY & TOY STORY 2 on Blu Ray for the first time everΒ – release March 23, 2010.
Each 2-disc sets contains 1 Blu Ray and 1 regular DVD.
(click on graphics for Amazon link – current price $24.99 – remember, Amazon will price match and reduce your actual price when it comes out on 3/23/2010 and another national retailer sells it for less).
There is a packaging oddity though – the two sets above are in the new smaller more compact and often blue case that signals you’re buying a Blu Ray disc (you get two discs – one Blu Ray DVD and one regular DVD) kind of like this …
But to add to the confusion, if you prefer the old larger DVD case …
You still get the EXACT same discs (1 Blu Ray and 1 DVD) but if you like and want to get the older, larger and thicker DVD case, then click on the links below …
Yes, I think it’s weird and kooky but give the people what they want, I guess.
Well, I suppose this explanation might work … if you have switched over to Blu Ray, then you’ll want the top 2 links to purchase so your DVD cases will match the rest of your Blu Ray discs but if you’re thinking of switching to Blu Ray soon but are not quite ready to commit, the yellow banded choice boxes more closely match your current DVD collection … wait, on second thought – let me go back to weird & kooky.
Because the DVD packaging ones (yellow band) costs $25.99 each while the Blu Ray DVD packaging ones (blue bands) cost $24.99 each.
I remember the simple days where an annoying dorm-mate would simply recite a movie for you … ah, the good old days.
And of course the CARS Gift Set with the two CARS is still available for $26.99.
Get this – I bought both Blu-Ray’s today, Toy Story and Toy Story2. They are on sale at Target for $22.99 each, with $10 off if you buy both. THEN – you can print 2x$10 (one for each DVD combo) “upgrade to BluRay” coupons from Disney Movie Rewards. So, I got both combos for $16 !!! Plus, each one has a free movie ticket in there. HEEEELLOOO — free !!!
I like that: “Heeeeellooo-free!” π
Anyone scored? My target is out…
If they include a Toy Story 3 sneak peak on one of the first two movies for Blu-Ray, someone should buy one of them for it!
just saw a preview for Toy Story 3 while at the cinema today. It looks like it is going to be just as great as the other 2.
Umm i guess these are cool π
“To my Blu-ray player and beyond!”
To wait or not to wait for a trilogy boxset… hmn… With these two all I now need will be Incredibles & Nemo. Come on Pixar/Disney!
I think you are right…hold out for the Trilogy Box set!
“Do not take us for fools.” “Earrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrthhhhhhh.” (Aliens pointing at globe.)
First!
You would be a Jeff Gordon fan!! π
hahaha good one John!! π
anyone gonna comment on the subject?
I was hoping they would do a 3-d version honestly.
but oh well… still be nice to have them on blu-ray…
maybe some of the DVD shelves on the market won’t hold the smaller blu-ray cases? I dunno…
I already have Toy Story and Toy Story 2 on DVD easy pass! The Blu-Ray versions better have a Toy Story 3 sneak peak.
