A long time ago, I saw Tank Coat in the launcher package and I passed him up. After that I did not see him for the longest and I was so mad I did’nt get him the first time.
Then one day, I saw it again and had to get it.
Point – Get it when you see it and skip a meal or eat light that day
if your broke.

Still no Tank Coat in a boxset right? Damn… missing that one still…
shoulda spoke up earlier … the launchers were cleared out at $5 each a couple weeks ago at Wally World.

Put all of these together side by side and we get a semi complete SOTS set. LOL 😀 Can’t wait. Still missing the one with Shifty Drug/Octane Gain out of the 6 current out there.. 5 without counting the Race & Chase Giftpack.

Like Sidewall Shine will not be re-released… Neither will Tach-O-Mint. They will be sweet and delicious chase cars… Without the chase logo. Cars are Hot Wheels based right?!?!
Mattel has to be cool enough (Matty excused) to know that not releasin’ them (Aside from in an exclusive set like the SOTS set) will add the the intrigue for collectors, and the fact that there are TONS of cars bein’ released from that movie is enough to keep the average buyer happy every time they enter a TRU or Walmart toy dept.
So my bet is there will be no APPLE car EVER!!! N2O Cola… you had your day… Sidewall Shine? Hope you got screwed in the promo ’cause they should be worth a mint when Mattel reneges once again…
Isn’t there another movie comin’ out soon that will have even more cars to fill the shelves with?

Actually, for those new to the hobby, this might be desirable — I mean, where else are you going to find a non-Lenticular Lightning McQueen these days? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know — there are probably some pegwarmers out there somewhere, but for the most part, everything these days seems to be Lenticular.
OK, but those “new to the hobby” probably also don’t have Tach-O-Mint or Gaskits. Would be nice for their collection too, no? 😀

This is getting bad…everytime I see a Lightning McQueen in a box, I just want to go to Mattel’s headquarters, and chuck it at their front door.
…it’s not a good feeling.
If Mattel ever held a town hall Q&A for toy collectors, I’d say this would be one of my top items to bring up.
I’ll just have to hold out hope to either find the last of the SOTS racers in launcher form, or pay a customizer to get those.
At the first KM Day the Mattel reps were out in force to recruit people for focus groups and get collector opinions and such on Cars. Made a big deal about getting our input; I don’t think anyone has gotten a call
I did run into a Mattel rep at the first KMart day as well. Gave my opinions and my email, but still never heard anything from Mattel.
I have wondered about a comparison of sales of Cars now vs what they were a year or two ago.
Before, it was hard to find anything on shelves. These days, all I see are moving eyes…watching me…mocking me.
And all of them have little cameras in the eyes, and Mattel is watching you. Mwuu haa haa haa!!!

If you ever pause in defeat while Cars shopping and say “oy lenticular”, did you know an anagram for that phrase is “neurotically”? …it’s all starting to make sense now, isn’t it?!

Wow, ANYTHING to move Lightning, Chick, The King, Leak Less and Nitroade! I’ll bet someone at Mattel mistyped 20,000 and accidentally ordered 200,000 of each a few years ago.
And yet still no Sidewall Shine.
I was only willing to buy the four pack with Fiber Fuel when it was under $8 on Black Friday. Otherwise these are typical overpriced uninteresting exclusives.
I see more that I want… I’ll probably get the Octane Gain/Shifty Drug set… definitely want the Gasprin/Bumper Save set… definitely get the N2O Cola/Revolting set… I would like Tow Cap… but I have enough of most of the others through launchers and others…
But if I had to guess, I’ll buy them all, and create my own 4 packs…

Busted, we finally found out who’s been doing all the switching!! Bad, very bad. 🙂
I only switch what I purchase and keep… I’ve combined the Leakless, HTB, and Dinoco hauler/racer/pitty sets with the Team Crew sets to create 7 vehicle super sets…
Octane Gain is next… a friend in California scored the team crew set for me today and will mail it tomorrow… Monday’s a holiday so I won’t get it before Tuesday… dang… I hate to wait.
