Hey Met – I just thought of something that others might enjoy. How ’bout a Take5 members gallery. Where we can send you pictures of our collection to post on here somewhere. I would love to see other’s collections (loose or carded). I know I just started collecting in October and my collection has taken over half a closet 😛

I was wondering tonight, as I was wearily pawing through the twenty or so pegs filled with unsold Lightning McQueens, has anyone thought about a letter writing campaign to tell Mattel enough is enough?
I understand that the little red guy is the star of the show. I like him as much as anyone. I have (almost) all of the variations. I have variations of the variations. I have error versions of the variations of the variations. Mattel, are you starting to get the point!!!!
Surely the costs are not all that much different for production runs of some of the other characters. The result of your current strategy is that your retail customers are stuck with thousands of identical, unsellable toys after all the “good” stuff (i.e., anything not Lightning McQueen) has been cherry picked out. Surely this does not endear them to you.
Please give us a little more variety.

THERE IS A LOCAL CLOSE OUT AKA OPEN BOX STORE THAT HAS ABOUT 6 OF THE PROJECTORS FOR $25
Our walmart had Richard for $3.79 he rings as not on file so the manager said while he must be the same price as those ones as he points to the lenticulars and NOT to the other megas all because his package matches only the lenticulars, new launchers and haulers.
On another note is fiber fuel a hard car to find our store had 4 of them on lightyear launchers?

They should have done a Sidewall Shine set and made a lot of people very happy!

Well, I do have to give them credit for getting Sidewall Shine, RPM, and NoStall haulers all in stores this close to Christmas!
TRU has HAULERS for something like $11.49, so it’s a little savings over the competition.
I mentioned yesterday in another section that K-Mart is selling the mega size this week for $4.99. The Sunday color ad, page two in the lower left corner has the detail. Unfortunately, it is easy to miss because there is no picture for it- just small fine print. The picture above it is for a $14.99 Lightning McQueen EZ Rider. My local K-Mart had a Frank, Elvis RV and semi’s.

I have to make myself quit buying for Christmas, but it is hard with all these sales.
Ditto!!! Sales ALWAYS get me….. their plan works…. and I KNOW it… is that any better than being naive and buying stuff on sale ? LOL
That projector is pretty sweet!
I picked the projector up earlier this week – I took it back the next day. It was pretty sad really. If you are going to pick it up it’s important to note that if you make the picture bigger than 12 inches it gets less and less bright to the point where it is unwatchable pretty quick. Also you really can’t adjust the picture to the point where it is actually sharp. But then again it’s not a very expensive projector so I guess you get what you pay for. On the box it shows a family watching a movie projected onto a tent. There is no way that can happen – the picture would be way to dark at that distance.
