Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Blu Ray DVD + Gold Ransburg Update
One more update, the Blu Ray CARS DVD + 2 Bonus CARS is only about a month away and a couple things of note …
It looks like you get the DVD, the Blu Ray DVD + 2 CARS all in nice mini suitcase (the airlines will still charge you $50).
But it also looks like it’s not some super limited item as it’s available at nearly every retailer.
Amazon (free shipping, no tax in most states and “release-day delivery options” available with 2-day & overnight shipping which means you get it on November 10, 2009 and not mailed out on November 10th).
And Walmart. (while it’s a few cents cheaper, no free shipping so far).
Of course, since it does not appear to be some super limited item, there’s probably no reason it won’t be at Target, Kmart or maybe even at the warehouse clubs such as Costco & Sam’s?
For people who may have missed this edition of the CARS DVD with the bonus disc – Walmart.com is still offering the 2-disc CARS DVD …
And keep in mind the Red Ransburg Mater with the Blu Ray DVD is different than the SDCC Red Ransburg Mater. The SDCC Red Ransburg Mater has rubber tires, moving ladder and moveable hose – all things not available on the DVD Red Ransburg Mater.
Ordered. I’m at one.. but I keep pondering more.
For those people that open their dvds and DO NOT use the Magic code for disneymovierewards.com please let me know I can put them to good use for gifts to give to childrens groups
Note:
Amazon.com LIMIT OF 3 PERIOD
Best Buy LIMIT OF 3 per order
Walmart.com NO LIMIT per order
this is on the Amazon product info for the set
“Experience CARS for the first time on Disney Blu-ray — Magic in High Definition”
hello, wasn’t there a Bluray Cars with 15000 pcs of Blu-McQueen? So everytime is first time?
At least i”m not alone at wanting something that I don’t have the ability to even play..those cars look sweet! Now, just have to convince hubby that we need a Blu Ray DVD BEFORE we have a player..hmmm…
Don’t have HD or blu-ray…but I must get it!
Ultimate Cars Giftpack, indeed.
As it turns out, I lent my Cars DVD to a friend who has not yet given it back. I think it’s hers now and I get a brand new one and a Blue Ray version for whenever I upgrade my home theatre.
for those who didnt see it in theaters with the 3-d special event, they have the toy story 3 trailer on pixars toy story facebook check it out!
lol at did you fix buzz?
Buzz as a flamenco dancer! Yes!
I got mine-just have to get the Blu Ray player now!
You should have grabbed the $98 Sylvania Blu-Ray player that WM had a few weeks ago during a model change…..now it’s back to $148.00, but still a decent buy. We bought it for a spare bedroom, great picture and functionality.
Black Friday will bring out some great deals as well, or watch the Circuit City website(yes, they still have a strong-selling website), as they had one for under $100.00 a couple of weeks ago.
or hold out for Black Friday…. I am sure there will be some $79-$89 blu-ray players out there…
I got a great deal at Sears last Black Friday for a top of the line Sony Blu Ray player. If you sign up at the Black Friday forums the best deals are outlined there with the ads.
Of course, we don’t know how limited this Gold Ransburg McQueen and Red Mater set will be, but even though the 2007 November Blu Ray McQueen was a 15,000 cars release look how it kept its value.
Now its two Novembers later, and Disney is handling this differently, probably because of all the complaints with the Blu Ray mailaway.
The Blu Ray McQueen mailaway was so frought with mistakes and errors, this method of including the cars is much preferable in my opinion. Just hope that the cars aren’t “removed” from the DVD packages. I have ordered my two from Amazon.
Did I not just mention Black Friday as an option for a good deal?
Our “main” unit is a Sony, but to be honest, I’d go with Panasonic if you’re going for a great performer at a great price.
You can get the PS3 120GB for $299.00 and it has the BluRay player built in and this thing will go on the internet and just about anything you want it to do. Good deal!!
lol totally blanked out that last paragraph….
funny… same thing happened to me earlier….
Circuit City website ran by the same guys at TigerDirect and CompUSA I think.
It is my #2 priority on my black Friday list. Cars stuff being #1 of course. I have been buying all the combo packs lately, DVD and Blu Ray. Got Snow White, Aliens vs. Monsters and the Cars pre-order.
I’m having a hard time justifying “repurchasing” the CARS Blu-Ray just to get the Gold Ransburg McQueen.
It’s a nice package for a first-time buyer.
Pull the car and sell the DVD for a few bucks less than you paid for it. There are people out there who will want your good deal on the DVD but won’t care about the toy.
I thought about that, possibly including the Ransburg Mater since we have the SDCC version, making it even more enticing.
Can anyone tell me what SDCC stands for? Usually I’m up on all this, but not that one…
(MET: San Diego Comic Con).
Spend D’lot of Cash at a Convention
Seriously though… San Diego Comic Con
😀
bought it just for the car.
Dang…if this so called “exclusive” is going to be every where then it is hardly an exclusive or really a limited run. The value of these cars will not mature by much in the years to come, thereby ostracizing serious collector/investors.
i cant wait to get that car! yay!
Met and Tiz, thanks for all that you do!
I too can’t wait for this… I told me wife this was the #1 item on my birthday list, but she told me that since I am turning 50 that I was too old for Cars… that I don’t have a blu-ray player (not yet – hopefully a PS3 for Christmas)… that I already have the movie on DVD…
Guess I’ll have to buy it for myself…
Can’t wait to get it!!! 🙂
