Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Tomica Tokyo Mater
Naturally, the Japanese diecast company would rush out the Tokyo mater CARS first 🙂
A very nice 2-pack box.
The Tomica CARS are 1:64 scale so narrower and slightly smaller …
And the front side …
The US version won’t be out for another 6+ months …
As usual with most Japan diecasts, you get a little card … here’s the front …
And back …
Thanks for the great pics, JadaFiend-Ricky S!
Thank goodness its not 1:55 diecast
I wish the wheels would have been correct but Tomicas can only do so much with their line being slightly more expensive the regular Hot Wheels here. As far as the expressions they have had Mattel beat on the Eye positions with some having 4+ versions. The Tomica website is cool, and depending on your Japanese it can be quite fun to browse and se what else is offered. Thanx for the feature Met! I feel all special!
Nice! I was noticing these in the flickr pool – jadafiend must have a CRAZY collection! Nice 🙂
The rear wheel wells are wrong on the Tomica Tokyo Mater. I’m sure Mattel will get it right 🙂
I am thinkng maybe I should’t have turned down those orders to Japan now =/
and they are diecast….. just slightly smaller scale…
8) Even though these are not die-casts, they are still cool!!!
I am pretty sure these are die cast just not as large as the Mattel ones…
They are diecast. I have LMQ and RS LMQ, my friend brought them back from Japan for me. In some ways they seem nicer, like they seem to have more metal and more small detail, but the eyes and expressions just arent captured like the Mattel ones. They are pretty cool tho, I wish we could buy them here! There is a website listed on the box but I have never checked it out. They come in little matchbox sized cardboard boxes so you cant actually see the car inside.
Well then sign me up!!! I want one too!!!!
Mater should be lower too. But very nice. Can’t wait to see Mattel versions.
sweetness 🙂 maters mouth looks like it was carelessly painted though
What do you expect from a japanese company they probably have lead in them too
Where do we get these?
