Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: 1:24 McQueen on Matty + No Clown CARS? Not For Long …
Thanks to “jubilutus” who spotted the long, long, long, long thought to be mythical 1:24 Lightning McQueen with grooved tires FINALLY showing up on Matty. Okay, it’s not available to order but it is something.

But the real good news is that Matty is slowly waking from his slumber because there was an item listed but it was hard to believe it would actually make it to Matty but now that we know Matty knows some HTML – it’s almost safe to say it’s coming – though not until 2010 at the earliest.
You asked for it by name and now, it’s actually coming true …
The 5-CAR CLOWN BOX SET.
My guess is Mack is the 6th & odd CAR out.
Since they all look like repaints and re-releases by 2010 … Nick Stickers with dog ears … Darrell Cartrip (clown lips are back!), Guido with nose & afro (it’s back!), Chuki or Showgirls with nose & no feathers and pickup truck (Ford F-150) …

And no, I’m not making it up – it even has a UPC number though it’s official name is not known, nor its price or release date but it’s coming to Matty in 2010 sometime.

Any word on these or the Convoy Brothers? Seems like Matty is ignoring Cars stuff.
Just got mine today. Has anyone tried the clear cover from a different car case to see if it will fit on the base? I’d like to buy one so I can display the car, but don’t want to spend $20+ for something that won’t work.
Wow believe it or not I forgot all about 1:24th McQueen until just now. Good this there wasn’t a great demand for him or I’d be SOL. 🙂

Anyone else get the Matty 1:24 McQueen this morning? I ordered a couple and ordering was actually a really smooth process. I really love the Franks that I picked up at the Disney Store last week. They are really nice! 😀
Well, they DO offer a phone number for customer service, so here’s what they say:

In lieu of an email address, I’d make use of that phone number and get things taken care of if there’s a problem.
I am in the same boat as djh1man. Except got charged tax of $23USD on Mater SDCC and Buzz but none on Lightning McQueen 1/24th. I should not have had to pay tax as we dont have sales tax (in Australia) on goods purchased overseas for personal use (only if re-sell).
I notice that giving a tax refund for international purchasers of the MOTU subscription service. The phone number is no good to me but there is no email address. I notice in a Mattel Q&A that it is coming but with matty’s form that could be anywhere between here and the second coming (of Cars that is)

Tried the phone number but not available from Australia, assume might be the same for other international buyers.
I have also sent an email to CustomerService@Mattel.com which was on bottom of the email got from matty collector this week. No response from this address yet.

Just ordered mine, but they’ve charged me sales tax for the UK! Anyone know of a contact email address for them, as by the time I’ve dialled the number from the UK I will have rung up the difference in call charges?!

I ordered the Rescue Squad mater on the same account and wasn’t charged the local tax. For some reason they’ve added it this time. The UK I believe is included wrongly as there shouldn’t be a tax charge for this destination other than the one levied once it gets to the UK. I just need to find a way of making them aware of the fault so I don’t get charged when they ship the item.

These are rare, in the sense, that you can not buy them readily at any store…and most sites are (out of stock) or other sites like Amazon and such want to charge $60 plus!!! What a rip off.
Wow 60 now? Got 3 dozen last year of each, from amazon.com the McQueen and 6 Maters for 32.00 each and sent them to customizers.

all plastic though, I heard about this when talking to HW guys and Moses from Warner Bros at SDCC. I remember something like it on a table when I went to visit Martin too at Mattel.
HOWEVER… I did find out.. theres a CHROMED 1-18th scale 1966 Batmobile coming
and an UPGRADED more features 1-18th scale 1989 Keaton Batmobile coming, better than the one allready out, released in 2003?

I really want these 1:24 cars! My husband has always collected 1:18 cars, so these are homage to that line. Now I can have my 1:24 Big Boys 🙂

Is there a specific production number attached to 1:24 McQueen? 5,000 , 7,000? I am tempted to get one, but all I really want is the Mater , and maybe Sarge if he is released.
(MET: That’s in the neighborhood of what I’ve heard … Mater should arriving in the next few months, then while Doc & Ramone have been protyped, I think it will depend on how these sell …).
They may be sitting on Doc for awhile. I hope that doesn’t kill the line. Maybe make 1 out of 5 a Hudson Hornet variant, or a lower numbered edition would help. Ramone could also be released in different color variants.
They should think about alternating between townies and racers (Sally 1 month, Vinyl Toupee the next, etc..)
Got the original one from 2006!I like it very much it is one of my personal favourites would love to have it graded!looking forward to tha 1/24 ramone!Still missing original 1/24 mater!The Frank is also awesome and A perfect fit for the 1/64 scale cars!I always found it very curious that they did not make the 12 first cars all in 1/24 scale maybe now they will!
