The Mater’s Tall Tales book is released … (Amazon link)
It’s very nicely done … about an 8″ by 8″ square shaped hardcover for only $7.99.
Each of the first three Mater Tall Tales (Rescue Squad Mater, El Materdor & Mater the Greater) gets about 25 pages each (or about 80 pages total for the book) … it’s basically the shorts “in print form.”
It’s a fun book and fun self reading for 6-8 (my guess on the age range) but of course, kids of all ages will enjoy hearing the story read to them with bright, vivid photos and of course, an encapsulation of the videos.
Tokyo Mater is not included 🙁

And I hear there are diecasts 🙂 but only if you’re collecting SINGLES, MEGASIZE or the 4-PACKS.

I am posting this here because it is in the Maters Tall Tales section. Are there 2 different Dr. Maters? I saw some pictures from SDCC and in the boxed set his mask is around his chin & a loose Dr. Mater showed the mask over his face. The same question for Burnt LMQ. The boxed set one looks different than the loose one. So are they the same or different?
(MET: Probably the Box Set Mater will be different than the megasize release).
Are the Mega Sized Rescue Mater & Chopper the same as the ones in the boxed set?
(MET: It looks like it but until they come out …).
I posted a note about this book over the weekend in the GeoTrax section. I went to TRU on Saturday and they had these for like $8? Anyway, it is great. Tonight is the first night I didn’t have to read it to my 3 year old. He wanted to go back to Dr. Seuss instead. LOL
It really is a great looking book inside and out.
Caution: The name ‘El Materdor’ is easily written 50 times in that particular story. I have to admit it can get annoying when you find yourself saying “El Materdor” 3 times on a page with 15 words on it. 🙂 (Anyone ever heard of substituting a he and him every now and again?) I guess I shouldn’t have made a drinking game out of it. Now I’m drunk before the story is over and my 3 year old is leaking milk out of every facial orifice. Oh well, I guess I will have to work on his spacial capacities and tolerance before college. 😉

I actually got a copy of the DVD from someone from this board, a while back. He DVR’d all of them and then burned them to DVD — Aiden still watches them ! :o)
now that is very cool. Can I also just add how good the art is inside of the Cars books too? Clearly a lot of time and effort have gone into publishing something great for kids… and fools like me.
Got mine just now at books a million!! It was the only one that they even got in stock I guess! The pictures are awesome!!!
Can’t wait to add this book to my collection… and then the DVD and the Cars… as I collect them all…
