Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Matty Mail & All the Mail That’s Almost Fit to Mail …
Matty delivers …
Each Rescue Squad Mater nicely wrapped … yes, there was packing material so all safe and snug …
John in MO came home to something completely different.
John definitely has mail.
What the holy hand grenade is that?
Run for your lives, it’s spring loaded. It’s from Eye Queda – cover your eyes and run!
Let’s see, USPS Postal Reg A-5631. If box does not fit into mailbox. Attach Government Issue rubber banded stretchy Item #2261-M to upper tab of mailbox (and you thought the upper metal tab was just to hold the door on). Get into truck and drive away at top postal speed.
Guess your driveway & porch was regulation ‘too far away.’ Good thing the box clearly reads oversized otherwise the carrier might’ve been tempted to cram it in there … Hope you didn’t suffer any rubber band related injuries … What else will they mount on your mailbox? Hope you didn’t order a ‘fridge by mail …
Maybe we should see if the Mythbusters will test out if this is a way to get back at people who bat mailboxes, super slo mo of the rubber band going TWWWAAAANNNNNGGGG and “MY EYE! MY EYE!”
Also, John, your neighbor needs to fix up his lawn but don’t tell him I said anything … ON THE INTERNET. 🙂
I received my Rescue Squad Mater. Nothing wrong with the box it was shipped in, but when I opened it the Cars box was wrapped with one thin piece of “foam paper”. It had a bent side flap and a nice big ding on the back corner. Very disappointed! If I saw it in the store I would have left it on the shelf. They said I could return it for an exchange but I had the risk of getting one that was even worse than what I got. I guess why gamble on it. Pretty awesome set though.
Got one today that my wife ordered for me as a suprise! It came in a box with NO wrap or paper AT ALL… just the packing slip! The tape circle seal was ripped open on the top right side, and the bottom corner was crunched in… good thing this one is being opened, or it would be going back!
FYI – According to “Matty” on Facebook, there are less than 50 Cars SDCC exclusives left, as of about 3 hours ago!
whos pakage is that on the top? was it shiped with ups or wat?
You’re lucky the carrier did not attempt to stuff it into the mailbox! 🙂
Did anyone order the Buzz Lightyear from Mattycollector.com too?
if so, are they With ANDY on the foot or no?
Need 2 With Andy on the foot for a gift
nascarnbroncosfans@msn.com
Haven’t opened the one I bought, but “Andy” had better be on there!
So far its 1-12 that DO have Andy on the foot
Such BS, I really feel ripped off.
omg i would have had a fit if mine had been like that, and let me tell you why hahhahah in the 3 years we have lived here our mailbox has been taken out 3 times!! LOL 3 stinking times thats like a yearly holiday LOL we have this little post office and the same post office lady haha and shes seen our box down all of those times hhaha and it takes us forever to fix it lol sooo bigger boxes she always brings to the porch AND like you guys further up! puts the regular mail in the mail box! LOL so theres my mail story hahha
At least the box wasnt anything important I sent you. Just Mattel Bags and low dollar winning lottery tickets….
that amazes me
John, those pics are the laugh of the day. and Mets comments were hysterical.
Our mail man is the best. He always wraps packages in plastic bags due to our climate. And puts them on the covered porch and rings the bell.
Retires in a year, and we always give him a Christmas present. Sorry to see him retire. Its been over 100 degrees here in Texas for days on end, but this never stops him from doing the same high quality delivery.
OMG, I bet that he never even got his lazy butt off his seat in in mailmobile!!!!
TWENTY-SIXTH!!
Shoot, if I weren’t working today, I would have stayed up later last night. That way I could have seen this and yelled “FIRST” to my “own” story!
THIRTY-FIFTH!!
In honor of our ol’ buddy MegaHeat, I just filled the boards!
I am very lucky to have a responsible Package Handler in my neck of the woods. If it is small enough to fit, he puts it in the box, and if it is too big, it goes by the door. He even knocks to see if we are home!
I guess that is not as exciting as coming home and seeing THAT attached to the Mailbox! I bet you could see that from a mile away, and broke the speed limit down your street to get close enough to read it!! 😆
Our mailperson usually does that too, so we must have a new one yesterday. I came around the curve at the bottom of the hill, and instantly saw the protrusion, and was like, “What the…?!?”.
I’m lucky our street is not very travelled, otherwise I fear it may have been used for drive-by target practice!
I always knew that you wood have a guy handling your small package!!!
heh heh … he said Package Handler … heh heh
I won’t even go there with the small enough to fit, something about a box and a door? Okay MET … edit this. What am I doing?
Let me take the opportunity here to thank Nascar an Broncosfans and Terri for delivering me the SDCC set. Thanks guys !
hehehehehe
Now we all know where he lives!! Party at John’s house!! Whoo Hoooooo…
Or Woo Hoo? Or Hoo Hoo? Or You Hoo?
somebody say Yoo Hoo . . . . mmmmmmmmmmm chocolate!
I think for John it is Boo Hoo!!
As for Met’s comment about my neighbor’s lawn, I tried to leave as much of MY lawn out of these photos, out of embarrassment! My excuse is that I live on a hill and all the water drains down. Yeah, that’s the ticket!
(MET: Your lawn looks pretty good …).
I second that! My lawn is a toasty light brown. I stopped watering it after 1979. Newly purchased house. Water, water, water! Water bill higher, higher, and higher! Wife cut the grass every third day! Gasoline bill higher and higher! I couldn’t let dear wife cut the grass three times a week! So, we were ahead of the times. Don’t waste precious water. 🙂 Now there isn’t a green lawn on the block of twenty houses. 🙂
I tried to water my lawn the other day. I was cited by the police and nearly taken in for questioning…
Want to see a nice lawn?
Hank Hill couldnt be more proud.
4 pics starts here, go to the right

Humm whats wrong with that picture that is the norm around here. My house is a 1/2 mile off the road back a private drive, and let me think what has been left by the road where the 5 mail boxes are. First of all anything mail that doesn’t fit in the box gets hung on it, not to mention the mail carrier pre screens all my maqazines for me. As far as the hanging it usually is in a giant plastic bag tied onto the box in such a manner that you have to cut it off. I carry a knife in my car now just for this reason. My favorite though was I had a work contact at Smithfield Foods, and come xmas time one year she UPS overnighted me a Charles Henry Grey Ham and it was left a whole 2 inches off the asphalt on the ground in front of my mailbox. One might have said hey UPS driver this is a cooler overnighted from Smithfield and I do live in VA so no excuse not to know what Smithfield does, you might not want to leave meat by the side of the road where say a dog could get into it. I would have been rather perturbed had that happened since I myself wouldn’t spend the almost $200 that the ham cost. Thank god it was alright and the xmas ham was quite good.
man.. that story brings back memories….
My aunt was a VP at Smithfield Foods. When I was a kid, she would send us a Charles Henry Grey ham for Thanksgiving and Christmas every year. Afterwards, we would have ham sandwiches for about 4 days straight…. Man, I don’t think I could handle all that sodium now….
I grew up in Homewood, Illinois, and miss Aurelio’s Pizza. I’ve had it overnighted from Chicago a few times before. Mmmm… Aurelio’s… Please tell me another Take5’er has enjoyed Aurelio’s.
Maybe I should make their logo my new Avatar:
http://www.aureliospizza.com/aurelios/corporate.nsf/fCNTDspReadH?OpenForm&Cat1=LA1
(MET: Stain glass of pizza oven pan stick and pepperoni … I’m converting! 🙂 ).
AURELIO’S!!! I LOVE that place!!! I grew up in Dolton, and my dad would take us there before we would head out to Sox games.
Didn’t know you could have it overnighted… hmmmm!
Ahhhh… memories! Now I’m hungry!
i have i have!!!! i grew up in plainfield, and my family lives in shorewood and joliet!! and i LOVE AURELIOS!!!!!!
HA HA HA..In Italy should have been stealed in 1 second!! HAHAHA
In Argentina you don’t even see it in the mail box! LOL
ha ha ha
Besides NEED,i can say HA HA HA….Can i say HA HA HA ??
Yes, I will permit that.
Luca, you can also say LOL, and LMBO, and Yes Sir PirateDad Sir!!!
ThanKs for your solidarity…LOL
Hilarious, Um John, the package I sent you today is in the same sized box, let’s see if they’ll go for it a second time.
I will send you a photo of where it winds up! I may have to pull out my 8-foot ladder to fetch it off the roof.
We’ve had missing mail, but THIS has got to be the worse that I have seen. 😯
All I have to say is one word. Awesome. Lol
That’s a “package security” nightmare! Out of sight/out of weather is “our” Modus Operandi.
As you can tell, my address is 611. We once had an evening delivery addressed to the folks at 511. I won’t name the company, but you work for them! 😆
Well, we ARE truck drivers after all… and human to boot.
🙂
Back when in lived in cali, I’ve had many packages rubber banded to my mail box, never really thought anything of it til now lol
Oh and if it was a large package or something that had to be signed for, he’d come to the door with it but still deliver the other mail to the mailbox.
LOL, my guy does that too!
Mine does that too! How funny!
That’s what happens out in the country……pony express horse is just out of the frame!!
That mailbox is trying to swallow that poor box!
I guess we’re pretty lucky. We’re on a Rural Route, old farmhouse with a driveway that runs from one road, past the house, and out the other side on another road….our mail lady is kind enough to drive all the way up the house & bring whatever it is to the house……all with a smile on her face! She would never do anything like what we’re seeing in these photos.
You have got to be kidding me! And I thought my mail lady was lazy! If there is a car parked on the street and she cannot reach your mailbox from her seat she will not give you your mail. Like it’s really hard to lift your butt cheeks up a few inches to stretch or God forbid walk over to it!
I told Met that it would have required the mailperson to walk a full 10 yards to my front door.
I’m pretty sure my mail carrier’s butt is firmly glued to the seat of his Mailmolbie. But I’ve yet to see anything like that!
Hmmmmmm…. well I guess YOU aren;t claiming it never arrived are you???
I would have, but there was no Delivery Confirmation (I didn’t request any).
You can’t be serious!
DUDE that is HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
