Here’s what they say,
Thank you for getting in touch. If you apply a MagCloud promo code to someone else’s publication the discount comes off the base price of the magazine. (That’s the product cost before any author-added mark-up or the shipping and handling charges). Any author-added profit won’t be discounted.
For example, if an author adds a $10 mark-up on top of a base price of $30, the total publication cost will be $40. If you use a 20% promo code, the discount is applied to the $30 base price only, making your savings $6 (not $8). That way the author gets their full $10 profit while you still get 20% off the base price.
The fine print for MagCloud promo codes will always include something like this “A XX% discount is applied toward your product total, excluding any author mark-up”. That lets you know that the author mark-up won’t be discounted.
(MET: Thanks for the legalese version … yes, MagCloud does not allow for a straight across-the-board coupon (I’d be willing to accept less during the coupon period) but the only way is to change the price for the days of the coupon and I’d have to change the price of all the issues and then back again so it’s just easier to say thanks for the extra $2. :-). BTW, Amazon did decide I was infringing on Disney’s trademark because you know, a photo of a metal object is confusing to consumers … you are confused that I was not including 1,800 diecasts with each purchase, right?? Thanks for the support! I promise not to let the extra $2 go to waste, you know convert my faucets to gold …).

States 20% off… but only gives a little over 9%…
tried to order the Print edition at $34.99 but it kept showing up as $32.11 which is not 20% off…. should be $7 off of $35.
