Mattel Disney Pixar CARS: Walmart Diecast Pricing – Target Price Match?

Some Walmarts are getting 2022 CARS but have not changed prices – Target seems to be listing CARS singles at $4.99 (quite a difference for non-math majors 🙂 ).
But don’t forget that Target will price match …
I’m not sure if Target will accept the photo above?
Do you need a photo with the diecast cards actually hanging on the pegs with the price showing?
Below is the Target PRICE MATCH GUARANTEE … I’m not sure how it works while you are buying in the store? The legelese seems to cover only after you buy an item – so if you test it out, let us know if you can actually price match without having to make a 2nd store trip to get the difference?

My experience is that Target requires you to show them a paper ad or an online link that shows the item IN STOCK in order to price match. So, not likely.
(MET: Maybe you need to buy 1 at WM for $3.72 and carry it into Target with the receipt … annoying but 20%+ savings is well, 20%+ …)
Years ago there was a promotion at Target something like buy 3 for $10 and was published in the weekly Ads. I showed a copy at Walmart and they let me having the same deal…
I’ve tried this once. I can’t remember if it was at Target or Kroger, but I was finally able to find an Endurance Racer on the Walmart website, took it to the cashier and showed her, and she lowered the price appropriately. I was buying a mainline single and not an endurance racer, so I don’t know how strict they’re going to be with the whole “exact same item” thing. It would be nice if you could just snap a picture in a store with lower prices and show them, but I don’t know if they would need to the die-casts as well as the price, or if they would even want to see the date the picture was taken as well.
