Mattel Disney Pixar CARS: Finally Canonized, Canon Sarge with Cannon
Thanks “Mad Mel” for the great photos.
Since he’s got a huge howitzer artillery cannon, I’m not going to point out he’s been driving around since 2009 and has finally arrived.
Canon Sarge with Cannon has been officially canonized as a diecast.
NOTE: Mad Mel, the customizer couldn’t stand that the trail is supposed to have round holes that are not drilled (see it in package) so mad Mel drilled holes in his.
Here’s a real one.
The cannon is plastic. They are officially artillery cannons – are all US Army ones called howitzers?
It does separate – nice.

I wish they put Sarge facing the other way… for non opener that would be nice to read the sign….
They’re also really small in real life. The one in Cars is nowhere near 1:55 — it’s closer to 1:35 scale, maybe as much as 1:30.
Technically it’s a 75mm Pack Howitzer M1 (on carriage M? depending on actual design used, the one in Cars looks like an M8 Carriage). They were a lightweight unit that could be broken down and carried on seven pack animals, though in a pinch, they could also be man carried.
They were very popular with the Marines in the Pacific, and could be airdropped in section for the Paratroopers..
