Mattel Disney Pixar CARS 3: Mack is Back … Later That Night

Mack 2018 seems to be slightly different than Mack 2017.
CARS 3 Mack 2018 seems to have lost his giat hood decal – MACK (below),
So unless the MACK sticker is just on a few as an ERROR, it looks like a variant.
Mack also seems slightly a brighter red but that can be chalked up as a “normal” production variance.
I’ll take a closer look next time I’m in a store to see if there’s anything else …

The eyes have a black rim also.
So exactly what is the difference?
(MET: Besides the MACK decal, it’s hard say until I see a lot more but the Mack decal is large enough to say it’s most likely a variant).
What’s confusing is that both top two photos are of “2018 Mack”. The bottom photo shows the two side by side. The “Mack” emblem is missing from the side of the hood. We’ve seen the 2018 version at TRU and Target and all have been variants.
Thanks John. That was what I was wondering. So basically you are saying the only difference is the Mack decal is missing on his hood. That is a really hard to call variant. It just could be a factory error.
