Unfortunately CTC does not respond to its customers.
I got my Case from them on the 14th of March, as my post states.
mine says awaiting fulfillment
ordered them a week ago
did they send you a tracking # ??
I don’t recall any tracking number, just an email saying they had been shipped. I ordered when this post first appeared, within a few days at the most.
I ordered a ‘Case D’ from CTC –it just arrived, great service, great cars, so no need to search for it at retail, plus the local kids get some of the extras I don’t want (LS McQueen, one Frank and the two Red).
But back to Mattel’s quality control, two of the pristine carded Cars had paint chips in the packaging, so they were chipped before they even went into the blister pack at the factory. One ‘Red’ has a chip on the right rear cab roof, one ‘Frank’ has a chip on the left front cab roof. Had I wanted those, and not been giving them to kids, I would have been sore with Mattel.
Additionally, the large size of the body casting needed for ‘Bud’ means they used a very large casting gate (near his right rear wheel well). When they break the body off the runner and gate after casting, it seems to always chip the body there, leaving a rough spot once painted (for the record, ‘Bud’ is a massively heavy Car).
Will CASE D show at retail?
“Bud” is starting to show up on eBay, but retail availability of a Super Chase is always a guess.
I just received a “Bud” on card that I ordered from eBay from a trusted U.S. vendor.
Bud is certainly a very nice Car, but Mattel needs to step up their quality control. The window openings had flash, that wasn’t cleaned and was painted, leaving a crusty look to the area around the window openings. There’s a rather large paint run on the card-side of the body. The “Boundin” decal on the rear is off-center.
But it’ still nice to see this one.
That’s true about Red! Now in another note if it was Mack, then yes…totally clogged the pegs, but for the way it looks, it will be difficult to get any deluxes, specially at Target.
Looks like Red will be clogging pegs when my local stores start stocking Deluxes again.
Regarless the quantity of Red we had in previous cases, Red have never clog any peg for long in my stores… He is always really popular… Not only one of the main character but it is a RED FIRE TRUCK !!! :-))) All little boys are excited to receive a cute red fire truck no ? 😉
(MET: Yea, based on the secondary market, RED never really dropped below $10 – and when he’s not been available regularly, more like $25+)
Can’t go wrong with non-Ramone townies!
