I finally got mine, ordered right after the first Amazon availability announcement — but I went with the rock bottom free shipping, which means “when we get to it”.
The package was pristine, no scuffs, marks, anything. So I tore it out of the box, and threw the box away. It’s in the trash dumpster now, cut up to fit (that’s for the OCD collectors gasping and holding their chests right now).
One thing no one has said. Inside the clear poly envelope with battery and assembly instructions is a single sided artwork showing Radiator Springs in a stylized artsy way, sort of a brown sepia looking thing. They list eleven distinct sets:
1. Courthouse
2. Casa della Tires
3. Ramone’s
4, Lizzie’s
5. Flo’s
6. Cozy Cone
7. Doc Hudson’s building
8. Mater’s tow lot
9. Sarge’s
10. Fillmore’s
11. the Racing Museum
The two sides of the main street, with all the miscellaneous buildings are not numbered, named, or anything, just white line art, where the eleven numbered sets are more detailed and black line art. Ramone and Flo’s bungalow is shown the same way, white line art.
I wonder if those will be made, or ignored completely.
Got mine…Box and clear parts in excellent shape. zero packing material in the box and there was less than 1/2″ wiggle room all sides in the amazon box..lucked out I guess…I will open these once the series is complete…if they stop at these two…well..I may just sell them off…fingers crossed.

Our Amazon ordered Fillmore’s arrived today. Box was packed OK. The actual black collector’s box shows shelf wear and there are scuffs on the clear plastic windows. I don’t think this is Amazon’s fault. Mattel really needs to shrink wrap these high end collector boxes in clear plastic back at the factory.
