Hopefully we will see Flo, Sally, McQueen as Stanley, Mater as Stanley and Mater with coconut… And more fom that short… Off road Mater was not part of the short… Or was in the cut scene ? 😉
By the way, speaking of short, what is happening with the release of “Serve and Protect” ??? Disney Store diecast set and a book have been released for several months now… And a Mattel 3-pack coming soon (seen on ebay backdoor sellers)
There’s also a Sally repaint as a police car too — I don’t know if she’s legit or not, she is 1:55, so not Takara Tomy; and has different artwork.
Looks custom to me…
One arrived in the mail today, it’s a bit rough on some of the roof paint (fixable), and does look cobbled up — the holes in her roof for the light bar aren’t quite square to the body — but she is interesting!
However the McQueen, half Rusteze half Dicono looks like one coming in something parallel to the main line…
I’ve got one of the “split identity” McQueens on the way … will advise once I see it. Mine’s “on the water” still.
Looking at the picture closely I am a bit concern about the seam between the colors… Hopefully this is not a custom bonded the McQueen’s halves together 🙂
There is also a police McQueen (tomica design but 1:55 scale). They are fake or whatever you guys want to call it..
With the 3D scanning and printing…. what seems to be difficult had become a piece of cake. $$$ is all you need
Except these aren’t made from 3D scans or copies, these are Mattel factory metal and plastic parts, being made in factory. Tell me Mattel can’t prevent or control that level of access to the tooling?
The police McQueen I saw used his Cars 2 body version with the rear spoiler … if only they’d made his Cars version without it.
Yea but you know what? These are going to be everywhere by the end of the year and we will get tired of seeing them just like that radiator springs 500 mater. Don’t panic and go pay an eBay scalper, wait it out if u can’t get to a store early. Scalpers are pathetic.
Not nearly as pathetic as the types that judge others Legal actions and falsely believe their morality and opinions should be subscribed to by all. However I do agree that these will be easier to get soon enough.
We all do what we feel is right — if I had to rely on Walmart, K-Mart, Target, or Toys R Us — I’d have almost no Cars in my collection at all. If anyone feels “Chinese back door” is wrong, don’t buy them.
And I still maintain that at the raw quantity of stuff coming from China via the “back door”, Mattel has to know and be involved. The tooling is theirs, the parts can’t be all counterfeited (which they aren’t if the tooling is “real”). It does allow Mattel to turn a blind eye and produce however many thousands of Super Chase they can sell. Personally, I never trust ANY manufacturer who claims they are self-limiting production “for the collectors”.
Like many are saying; “Ebay is a necessary Evil” ;-). Not everyone have the chance to live near a store selling Cars and/or Planes… Since I moved from WA to GA it is like from paradise to hell… (Collector hat speaking) My options are from about 30 potential stores to 5 within an hour drive radius.. And I know I cannot complaint compare to many others… Without Ebay my collection will be far less exciting… So yes Ebay and backdoors are filling a huge gap… In my case I am not an opener but once in a while I order some to please myself because I have the feeling the real one will never come or because they are just impossible to find or the real ones are out of price… Such as the famous apple car, McQueen Motorama, El Materdor, some haulers, the gold McQueens, Lassetire safari surf, etc… Also there is some international Cars who will probably never be release in US, Frosty Silver and Gold, McQueen German Promo, some Canadian planes, Taia Decotura, 2-pack Axelrod/cleaning Pitties, Taco Mater, Shu Neon single, even some Disney Store Cars like the chrome racers which are spectacular, the International McQueen (flag paint scheme) etc… Think about it guys…. It satisfies a lot of poeple…
Oh ! I forgot ! Unless you have a contact with a retailer, how do you get the Super Chase ? 🙂
