Neo Scale Model Diecasts Don’t Skip the the Real Roadmasters
Of course, most diecasts toy companies make all the great, classic, iconic and beautiful cars such as the Porsche 911, the ’63 Corvette or ’67 Mustang but what about the the real road masters? The cars of the common folk that most of us (or our parents/grandparents) actually drove on a daily basis?
Neo Scale Models has some fun 1:43 diecasts for “the rest of us.”
All the great details! Well, maybe a few more chips in the vinyl “wood paneling.” 🙂
You can check out the Estate Wagon here.
The Datsun Bluebird (not sure what it was in the US) but this seem to be everywhere, right?
Of course, they sell diecasts of the ones you’d expect but it’s fun to find some of the cars you wouldn’t expect to find …
You can check out their full lineup here.
That is correct. These are NOT diecast. These are resin-cast, as in they are made from resin, not metal. Neo models are nice, but many of them are inaccurate in shape and details. And expensive too.
I’ve bought 3 NEO models in recent years, they are nicely done. I picked up a 67 Eldorado, a 58 Buick Estate Wagon, and a 1960 Buick Electra 225 4 door flat top. Very sharp little models. I wish they did a 59 Buick. I have a Western Models 59 Buick in 1:43, but it’s just not as detailed as the 58 or 60 I picked up from NEO.

A collector friend says they are very well done, about US$85 and cast of resin, not metal. (so definitely not for kids)
