Mattel Disney Pixar CARS Diecast: Louis LaRue on Fun Street
Louis LaRue has arrived in stores …
Another fun Paris Citroen 2CV.
He comes with the oddball “cane.” My guess is since Marcel Marceau was famous for having a red flower and a cane as part of his persona act, this is a CARS tribute to him so I’m guessing that the “brown stick” is supposed to be a cane though of course, it is a little odd for a CAR to require a cane.
You can’t really see the cane in the scene from the film so presumably, when Pixar supplied a screen shot …
Next to “John.”
Interestingly enough, even though both are Citroen CV’s – they are two different molds.
Of course, since his “cane” is metal, his base is different – but it is interesting that it’s very different.
The paris gang.
Thanks for the great pics, “John H.”
His grille is crooked.
Isn’t it supposed to be?
I carefully trimmed the “cane” off, since it is more likely the paintbrush from Henri Motisse. There’s no way Louis LaRue has a cane from the scenes in the film, anyway. Simple fix.
(MET: Is the “cane/paintbrush” metal or plastic?)
It’s molded on the plastic underframe on mine.
I love the way they did his eye makeup. And that brings me to another weird thought: it’s probably only a matter of time before Gene Simmons has a line of KISS-inspired Cars diecasts. He’s already sold KISS Hello Kitty and a lot of other toys.
(MET: I’m pretty sure there’s been at least a couple KISS diecast releases – Johnny Lightning did at least one).
very cool, I actually just found the Kimberly Rims and Carinne Cavy 2 pack yesterday at a Walmart, I’ll have to keep an eye peeled for this one now -John
Kimberly and Carinne are on Amazon now too
