Mattel Disney Planes Fire & Rescue: Smokejumpers Size Sized
The Disney Store diecast metal Smokejumpers have finally been released so now we have all the major contenders checking in and frankly, no one has done all 5 (6 counting Maru) correctly so basically, you can mix and match or just go with one line.
Tomy from Japan are mostly right sized but their Dynamite is too large.
The Disney Store Dynamite is WAY too large (right). Mattel actually got this one right.
Tomy, Disney Store & Mattel.
Maru is nice with his welder’s kit.
So, since this line is Mattel’s – hard to go against them as the “official” ones. The Disney Store ones with dirt amd moving features is a nice supplement – plus these comes with Deer & Doe so feel free to add them … the Tomy ones are nice but they’re not 100% perfect so they won’t be considered as an option but feel free to collect them all!

Thanks for the great comparison photos, “John H!”
“Mack Me Bucko” notes that in comparison to real life, the Mattel smokejumpers are in scale to real-life versions … the larger ones just seem a little large in comparison to Dusty in the film but until the DVD/BR comes out, it’s hard to say for certain …

I like the Mattel ones the most Disney’s eyes are almost creepy…
Nothing is ever perfect in the world of toys, so yeah, I ended up with all four sets. Disney Store plastic (really small, but nice), DS metal (too large except for maybe Avalanche), Takara Tomy, and then Mattel. I’m warming more and more to the size of the Mattel ones, but still need the DVD to assess all the sizes better. Now if they could just make a smaller version of Maru — possibly from Tomy?
(I just did some digging, and Takara Tomy is releasing their version of Maru on September 11).
