Disney Planes F&R: Smokejumpers, Deer & Doe Diecast Sets
Thanks for the great photos, “John H!”
As of now, if you want a diecast “deer” and “doe” tractor from Planes Fire & Rescue, the Disney Store has some nice new box sets with smokejumpers with moving parts/arms.

Compared to Disney Store Tractors.
Cute.
These Disney Store Smokejumpers have moving arms/front pieces and some “dirt.” One way to tell them apart from the other Disney Store Smokejumpers.
They are all about the size of the Mattel releases but tiny Dynamite is way too large (Mattel’s Dynamite is one that Mattel got the size correct).
But the dirt treads are nice.
The gang with their arms raised.
The Disney Store gang’s all here.

Where’s Cabbie?
These are great, been out for couple months in europe (ireland anyway) even before mattel (we only get drip, avalance and blackout here at the min to boot..) but my son prefers DS smokejumpers for playtime due to more moving parts and he likes the wheels and dirt better lol, i can also confirm you can load 4 of them into cabbie no probs – 5 with the door ajar so he loves them for that – only downs i would say are the rubber ‘horn lights’ on deer and mirrors on doe are very flimsy and will most likely break over time (and with being hooked up by blade ranger a lot just like the movie lol) and also drip’s scoop is plastic on bottom but rubber on top which feels a bit cheap – but detailing is great, maru’s flip mask is a nice touch too, pretty good value too!
Not sure why you’d think the deers should be bigger than tractors???
Adult white-tailed deer range from 53-120 cm tall (21-47″) at shoulder and weigh 60-130 kg (130-290 LB).
A Jersey cow (one of the smaller dairy breeds) averages 122 cm (48″) shoulder height but weigh in at 360-500 kg (800-1100 LB). Other dairy breeds such as Guernsey or Swiss Brown, as well as beef breeds are even bigger (up to 680 kg/1500 LB and up to 147 cm/58″ tall!
In my mind I know cows are bigger than deer, but somehow it just feels “right” that the diecast deer should be bigger than tracotrs. That said, if Mattel makes deer and does in better scale, I’m there, in multiples.
(MET: Well, on human Earth, we used to have 7-foot penguins … so anything is possible in CARS World …).
Oh gosh. Dynamite’s eyes belong in the nomination for the worst eyes on a Disney Store Car ever. They’re absolutely revolting.
According to ‘Meet the Planes’, the deer are named Buck and Doe. The males impress the females by having “brights battles.”
I just like that they have moving parts. I don’t know how they would work with cabbie though who is awesome.
We need a Mattel 2 pack of Deere and Doe.
I like the size of the DS Deer/Doe. I tend to think they’d be larger than a cow (Tractor) so work well with the Mattel vehicles in this role. The DS Avalanche is actually smaller than the Mattel one slightly, and may be better suited. The other four Smokejumpers from DS are quite a bit larger than the Mattel ones though.
my thinking on the deer/doe as well. Wasn’t certain on the smokejumpers though, I was hoping the DS ones were going to be more accurate.
I know “scale” in the realm of toys is likely a moot point, but after my research into the sizes of real skid steer loaders (Blackout), compact track loaders (Avalanche and Drip), and teleloaders (Pinecone) — shows that the Mattel ones are actually quite reasonable in scale to real life machines.
In case anyone cares, I can send on my dimensions, etc.
