Watched it at the 9:50pm showing last night! Wow, many cute RV characters. Saw the beginning and the end, but not sure how the story went… ZZZzzzzz…. Should have drank 2 RedBulls instead of one. Will have to watch it again before it’s released on DVD.
I agree that the character development was pretty good for most of the cast (except the smokejumpers?!?). Besides Dynamite there wasn’t much to distinguish them – Maru, Wind Lifter, and even Ryker got much more individual screen time and dialogue.
It was great to see the smokejumper crew in action.
I can see a variant toy coming as well. “Old” Mayday (as already released by Mattel and Disney Store) and “new” Mayday, as he appears at the end of the film.
I also want the little Car hauling the ice sculpture out of the Fusel Lodge on his roof!
Took the day off of work and took my 6 year old to the 3D version at 12:30 (first showing around here). We both enjoyed it immensely. Very entertaining!
Too bad most of the kids will not get the CHoPs reference.
Well, I enjoyed it quite a bit, far better than the first Planes movie, and while semi-predictable, the film has a good heart, some pretty nice visuals, and a real sense of character development and group camaraderie between the cast. I think it will do well, especially on DVD.
Go in expecting nothing, and you’ll be pleased.
BTW, “Patch” is their female tower operator, and she is a pitty of some sort. Loved hearing Patrick Warburton as Pulaski, and Ryker is a hoot too.
