If you need a step by step guide along with a “bumps guide,” you can find one at Usual-Encounters website …
The dots are colored in for easier visibility but there is a code for every character.
These just hit store shelves in Winnipeg, Canada. Stupidly, I walked away from a fresh case yesterday morning. I went back today…. zilch. My dreams of blindly fondling blind bags have been dashed, doh.
Correction: Nelson does not have book accessory, but a baseball bat… Still couldn’t find him
The bump codes are consistent within a specific region code imprinted along bottom edge with production bumps (eg 343B3) but these codes vary among region codes.
Feeling the bags is pretty easy for the Simpson series with the exception of 3 of the kids (Milhouse, Nelson, and Ralph – all have a book-like flat accessory). It IS easy to tell the kids from adults by their shorter, non-hinged legs…
Still can’t find Nelson!
The blind bag bumps can change during the production of a series so they are unreliable. It’s better to feel the bags to identify pieces and find the character(s) you want.
Years ago Rich Hall (comedian, anyone remember him?) coined a word for this act: Histeoblogination.
Wasn’t that called a Sniglet…a combination of two words…for example:
someone who accelerates at a yellow light was an accelloyellow.
Yep, he did “sniglets” — glad someone remembers.
I have felt bags (not what it sounds like) to find the mystery Hot Wheels I wanted.
