Mattel Disney Pixar CARS: Neon Racers Now a New Expanded Universe Thing
It turns out the Neon Racers is a whole Expanded Universe thing.
Thanks for the great photos, “John H.”
Looks like there is a new book, “Neon Racers.” This is the first “Expanded Universe” CARS book in a while – since the Christmas book that there are matching diecasts.
There is also a CARS singles sale – nice price. I’m not sure if the Neon Racers singles were supposed to be available now also but so far, no one has reported seeing any singles.
They are going all out. I’m not sure this is a real camera but probably some sort of “view master” CARS movie-short-Neon Racer book photo viewer?
Shouldn’t this fire tiny CARS pellets?
I have no idea what this does other than spin around?
Expected line extensions items – Kid’s RC’s.
And the renamed play set (and a price increase).
Thanks for the great photos, “John H.”
None of these are listed online yet so for now, only in-store.
I looked at this book the other day, along with Vitaly, Frosty is depicted also. So are all the standard WGP racers.
Man, this is great, I found this freshly put out this morning and snatched up the entire series! Awesome! This makes me caught up on everything cars related that is new and then some. Got about 11 lizzies now.
Several Targets here just received the singles cases yesterday.
They are setting up the endcaps this morning.
I’ve seen these for about 3 weeks now. first they were with the other cars stuff and now moved to the end cap. The targets by me jumped the gun on the release date. And wait for the sale.
If I’m not mistaken, the shot from the book shows Vitaly Petrov as one of the racers. Interesting!
Does anyone else find this entire line extension, particularly the NERF gun and strobe light spinner, very bizarre?!? Why does Mattel not expand/reissue and deliver the current lines’ more popular characters?
Yeah, they’re going kind of crazy with this extension.
It does seem bizarre, but looking at these things, I can’t see one of them that my 4 year old isn’t going to try to get me to buy for him.
I saw everything pictured above yesterday, including the singles. But at $4.99 it was easy to walk way.
John H seems to live to the best ever location for a cars collector… he always have a ‘first to market’ access… somehow…. Lucky you…
