Disney Store Sale: CARS Character Encyclopedia
If you haven’t picked up a copy of this:
Disney Pixar CARS: Character Encyclopedia – $12.95 at the Disney Store.
It sells for $18-$22 elsewhere. I don’t think it’s available in stores – maybe if you have a mega sized Disney Store.
You even get a free diecast, a metallic paint version of “Lightning McQueen with Piston Cup (decal).” (aka: Hudson Hornet Lightning McQueen) + a poster!
It is authored by yours truly so I highly recommend it! 🙂
You can see sample pages here.
So, it does not include every diecast released … unlike say, our checklist magazine that covers everything from 2006-2011. Of course, I also don’t have a world class art director at my disposal and the photos are much larger in the book.
Yes, I’m just about ready to start on CARS: Themes 2013 that covers the last year.
We found this book at Toys R Us!
This book is very nice. But I think there are enough new cars to make a new one 🙂
I’ll admit I did commit a serious crime on this book though. I stripped off the hard covers, and rebound it after trimming the covers to size to match the pages of the book itself. It fits the bookshelf better that way.
(MET: That’s no crime. It’s only a crime if you leave a bad review … just kidding! 🙂 ).
Was there supposed to be a 2nd printing that had a different paint color on the car?
(MET: That was just my speculation when the metallic McQueen with stickers started turning up – but ultimately, that turned out to be the German promo … so nothing as of now).
We bought this book about 6 months ago (here in Sydney Australia) and it’s a fantastic book. Our little guy was even happy to have it as his bedtime story book on a few occasion by just going through the characters.
I think it cost us $25AUD, buy everything in Australia is a touch more expensive that the US. It has a £15.99 price printed on the back for UK buyers.
We know it doesn’t cover every variation, but it doesn’t miss much. Well done to the authors Jo Casey and Ken T Chang.
Along with the Checklists and visual guides, this book is another great reference — and you get a nice LMQ!
