I don’t know if these geniuses drove their SUV into a not-so-frozen lake but if you know your physics, apparently all you need are some pieces of wood, a log and some nice strong rope … see, math and science pays off!
Though be wary of buying a used car off Craigslist with chunks of ice inside.

Quite ingenious! Although some luck had to come into play; depth of water and thickness of ice AROUND the hole and at the site of the crank. But it was a very resourceful solution, and it’s hard to argue with success.
I like how so many people are standing around an apparent weak spot in the ice as well…
