Mattel Disney Pixar CARS Diecast: Kmart Promo Deluxe CARS Arriving
If you mailed away your cardbacks, receipt and payment to Mattel’s East Aurora address, you should have already received or are getting the Deluxe CARS mailed out (a little early than listed).

Mine just arrived – got 4 sets which were all somewhat unceremoniously dumped into a large box. Only one card casualty, however, so that one I may open. (Mugsy) Really love them. Very cool.
has anyone successfully got their promos with non-matching recipts to card backs?
Yeap. 3 Utah Club members have their orders on the way, confirmed shipping emails already received.
Several CTT members got their sets also, by sending in cardbacks with the correct assortment numbers. Not necessarily ones they bought at the Kmart event.
I spoke several times with Mattel and both times the Customer Service people confirmed that the UPCs did not have to match the receipt. The receipt proves you purchased 5 cars at Kmart. I explained I am mostly a carded collector and did not want to open all the Cars from the event for the mail-in.
I did get 5 sets today, sadly they did not pack them well, very soft corners, but some are here. NICE cars though, pretty good sized.
John L. is probably not a deluxe release, just a special release warranting a larger blister. He’s the same size as Hank and that other white pick up truck.
Muggsy’s and John’s UPCs are only 4 numbers apart, so my guess is that it was just a Mattel oversight by not printing “DELUXE” on the front or back.
Do we have to open these also? Like if the Mattel/Kmart police show up and ask to see them as open and if they are not you are barred from future promos?
(MET: Don’t worry. The NSA knows from the tracking chip if you opened it or not. 🙂 You, citizen 156245GEQ are designated as opener, non-opener or questionable non CARS collector … at least you are not in the last most suspicious category).

As spotted in a thread at PCD it appears that John L does not have the Deluxe label for some reason?
I’m still waiting for my KM Cars to arrive from NY. My mother went to the event for us (we’re stationed in Germany) and mailed everything the same day. I’m really hoping our package is not on the slow boat, that’ll take 6 weeks to get here and we’ll miss out on getting the mail-in Cars. She did not understand the whole process of ordering Muggsy and RS John Lassetire so I had to have her mail the KM Cars to us first. These look very cool!
