Mattel Disney Pixar CARS Diecast: T Case, The Weirdest of Them All
As the toy years wind to a close – the CARS factory cases has gotten pretty weird, some great, some pretty good and some now we’re not quite sure what is accurate … (still investigating!) … but the T case is the weirdest of them all. I double checked, it is definitely the “T Case.” At first glance, it looks like what’s left in the warehouse after the shuffling of the past 5 cases … Francesco, Tow Truck Tom, Wingo with Flames, Lightning with Racing Wheels, Suki, Mater, Marlon Clutches and possibly one nice addition – Luigi & Guido with Glasses. Not too enticing to buy as a sealed case but decent enough for retailers – a variety of CARS to entice newbies … BUT then the list gets weird.
Lightning McQueen.
At first, I skipped right by it but then I remembered, was he even on the poster? Nope but he was scheduled in CASE L so okay, just another warehouse cleaning …
Hydraulic Ramone – wait a minute!
Fillmore with Headset? What list am I looking at?
(ERRORS FIXED – thanks!)
Not a single – Raoule Caroule (only as a 2-pack and box sets) … but then, the clincher? Timothy Twostroke AND N20 Cola.
DEFINITELY NOT scheduled for toy year 2013.
This is TOTALLY weird.
It’s definitely an official list from Mattel.
Well, it could mean nothing. It could simply be wrong.
It could be a 2014 CASE. The 2014 single card design essentially looks like the 2013. They changed the background to another racetrack scene and changed the logo to read WORLD OF CARS but of course, they always start with CASE A.
Is it some weird split case – half 2013 cards and half 2014? They’ve never done that before but that doesn’t mean they can’t start.
It does look like it could a CASE A for retail, two Lightning McQueen’s, Francesco, and a Mater … so, maybe they think it’s CASE T but it’s really CASE A? Er, not exactly a case to get anyone excited.
So, there you go. I could give you the case assortment but basically you can pretty much guess the common releases with 2 (Yes, 1 Timothy Twostroke). 3 LM with Racing Wheels though that’s actually ok now since there’s not a lot of these actually on the shelves. Since I doubt anyone wants a case, I decided to skip it.
I also cannot tell if it’s RT Luigi/Guido or the glasses 2 pack nor can I tell if it’s RT Mater or Mater but I’m guessing no one one is really holding their breath … so we’ll just wait and see until someone opens one up.
Your thoughts on what kind of critter this might be? It’s aaalllliiivvvvvvvvveeeeeee!!!!!!! Abomination! Kill it with fire!
Thanks, “HK6” for the heads up!

I just saw a metallic Carla on a 2013 international card. Was this announced?
(MET: Still deciphering 2014 list but sounds logical – if they are adding Gold Metallic Rip to the “regular” lineup, why not more metallic racers).
Are you referring to the following ebay item # 380726562732 ? which is the silver version (equivalent to the Kmart ones we got last year). because I do not see any metallic Carla other than that and the Disney 1:43 version.
Pretty sure there’s a D, an R, and a U in the acronym for this case assortment. The best thing that I see about it is the prospect of a unibody Raoul, and that is sad.
Are there only supposed to be 15 Cars in the Case?
Well this case explains how I ended up with a Marlon Clutches McKay in my N case – I thought it was a leftover from case A at the factory but didn’t know until now that it was for case T.
Also, anyone starting to get tired of Suki? She seems to be in almost every case these days. She’s cute but too much of any car leads to pegwarmer status.
Also, wasn’t Timothy Twostroke in one of the Target box sets if I recall?
Yeah, it appeared as an exclusive to the Speedway 9-pack sold on Black Friday at Target. Strange that it would now move to a singles card; I thought Timothy Timezone would be a more likely candidate since the vintage Radiator Springs cars (even Final Lap era) have been making a comeback on 2013 cards and TRU exclusive cards.
Cars 1 Lightning McQueen was released in Case F. There is one on the pegs right now at my local Target.
(MET; okay, errors fixed – thanks!)
The machine that makes the boxes automatically inserts at least 1 Francesco in each case.
Case A and its its Timothy Twostroke.

Timothy Twostroke, pic above is Timothy Timezone Truecoat
I know, what I am saying is my guess is that Mattel is re rereleasing
the fan car Tim Twostroke and Not Truecoat the Final Lap flash back car.
I’d be quite surprised if it was the opposite.
ahh I see, I’m hoping for the flashback Tim, love those tailfins,
but you’re probably right

Must have N20 and Timothy!
Fillmore is missing his roof! Variant!
Wraukn, and ramone with hydraulic wheels and a bit of a missing eye.
Case “T” for Transition?
Max Schnell is most certainly a 2013 single. It’s Nigel Gearsley in the 2-pack with his crew chief.
That’s actually Timothy Timezone Truecoat, Timothy Twostroke is the little
car with the 95 on his head! -John
