Mattel Disney Pixar CARS Diecasts: THE Final Deluxe Case?
It looks like there might be one final Deluxe Case after Case G? While Case G was pretty good with 2 Dracula Mater and 2 Waiter Mater (out of 6). CASE P is a basic case for retail …
One of everything so the shelf looks interesting enough. That’s Ivan Mater, not Ivan in case you’re wondering.
So, no listing for Muggsy Liftsome. Perhaps Kmart will get a special case for the JL Green Truck Fall giveaway with Muggsy Liftsome in it?

I stopped collecting with Cars, The Original movie. However, I still stop in the stores and look and buy for an avid collector who is on this site. Yesterday, when stopping at the TRU at Southcenter Parkway, Tukwila, WA I found a newly stocked case that had one Francesco Fan Mater. I thought TRU price as a little high ($11.49 + tax), but, it is always returnable if my collector friend does not want. Outside of that find, there really has been somewhat of a let down in the toy aisles-period.
(MET: So, TRU is now just doubling the price at other retailers now? Aren’t Deluxe’s $5.99 at Target? I don’t recall the last time I actually a deluxe at my Target’s nearby).
I was surprised myself to see this price. I’ve seen prices inching up on some toy lines, but, I thought this was outrageous. The person I bought it for wants it for a little nephew. When I bought one at K-Mart during the promotion, K-Mart only wanted $7.99 plus tax. Go figure.
All reissues and NO MUGGSY (when he’s sitting in the warehouse) is a real middle finger up at collectors.
I’m assuming contents for the final case for 2013 was based on what they could sweep from the factory floor. Although, some might be happy to see the return of Ivan Mater. He was one per case and in the first case only, if memory serves. Paired with Kabuki but Kabuki was back in a subsequent case.
exactly correct. Ivan Mater was scarce at retail, only one in case A. found 3 over a 3 month period last winter and spring. Mattel Shop had him but he sold out fast.
dustin same body as miles and nasca, and al oft
are easier and much cheaper to manufacture that frank or Bessie
mattel makes the same on all deluxes so they make more money this way
beside they really don’t care what collectors want or think
OMG!! This is ridiculous Mattel…you clearly don’t care about collectors! We shouldn’t bother in buying anything else from you then. Stores won’t order more because these don’t sell…make items that will sell and everyone will be happy and make money.
Can someone explain why Mattel would distribute the likes of Dustin Mellows and Al Oft. Etc. in multiple cases but not rerelease a single Frank or Bessie for a few years now? Many collectors need them and they could sell thousands quick. Why the heck wouldn’t they put more out more Franks and Bessies already? Either they just don’t care or they’re ignorant about their own products.
Right? Soooo maddening! I am hoping the next year will remedy this, but knowing Mattel, they will likely miss the boat on this again!
