Disney Toon PLANES: An International Hit!
PLANES the movie is still going strong since no one else had the foresight to release another major studio brand animated film in the late summer period – until Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 opens at the end of September.
PLANES will pass up TURBO this week – only a few hundred thousand behind – making it the 4th highest grossing animated film of the summer – behind Despicable Me 2, Monsters University and Epic.
There are still major markets like France and Japan.

I wonder how many people were — and perhaps still are — fooled into thinking this was a Pixar film?
Not bad for something they were originally going to release on DVD.
