Mattel Disney Pixar: The Ivan Mail Away Promo Update – Planes is Cars & Ivan So Far Away

Ivan is arriving packed very nicely and with the nice poster on super heavy stock paper.
The interesting update seems to be that “PLANES are CARS.” People seem to be successful buying PLANES products and mailing the receipts in for an Ivan redemption … which makes sense as PLANES is marked, “A World Above CARS.”
While no one who has mailed in PLANES receipts have actually received their Ivan, they have gotten the email it’s processed and on its way so all should be good. Once you are past the order entry approval portion, you should be set so IF your Kmart has PLANES or CARS products, they all seem to count towards the free Ivan.
Of course, the two Kmart’s around me have each have less than $20 worth of CARS AND PLANES products to buy …
Another UPDATE – sing it! “Ivan (Ivan So Far Away).”
Ivan has now moved OFF the Deluxe list for 2013.
At one point, there were two Ivan’s listed on the Deluxe list (besides Ivan Mater, of course). It’s been updated and both are gone.
While it’s just a list, it most likely means it’ll be at least a year since Ivan gets a re-release – the typical “exclusive” period for an exclusive.
Yes, when June, 2014 rolls around, Ivan might get a re-release but yes, there is the possibility he NEVER gets re-released so if you want one, you might have to knuckle under and buy some PLANES products to get to $20. Just to be safe.
Of course, in November 2014, it’s a new (toy) year and Ivan might get put back on the list so I’m not saying anything or nothing (or nuthin’) is possible or impossible or unpossible but it’s seems pretty likely this will be your only chance to get Ivan – certainly on the “Themes 2013” card.
So, let that be a warning to you all.
You have until August 8th to purchase items – your envelope MUST be postmarked by August 15th and Mattel MUST receive it by the end of August! So, you still have about 3 weeks to hope and pray your KM gets stock in.
There is also a lunatic plan – you can buy it from Kmart.com, return it to a Kmart and sweet talk the clerk into re-selling it to you … in case you missed it, only Kmart receipts not Kmart.com receipts. Good luck with this plan – don’t blame me if it doesn’t work, I’m the Plankton of Evil Geniuses …
Also, as far as I can tell, no one else has received a Muggsy Liftsome but who knows, it might get more Muggsy as we get closer to August.

Ivan for Planes arrived today. Bought the three Planes gift sets at Kmart and successfully used that receipt to get an Ivan.
It took about two weeks from purchase to arrival on the US West coast.
Got lucky twice more in Indiana last week. Got 2 Materhosen and 2 Shu Todoroki w/rubber tires at one Kmart and 1 Materhosen and 1 Ishani and 1 Gearsley/Littleton set at another.
What are the odds they SNUB you again and ship more Muggsy?!?!? I call dibs on trade lolol
Still no new CARS or PLANES at Kmart near me?
I REFUSE to buy old pegwarmers just to get a “new” promo.
I have asked several employees and managers about the exclusives and all are still clueless about the promotion! ?!
This is clearly a horrible event/promotion! !!
The biggest downfall to collecting CARS is the continuous lack of product at the local stores.
(MET: One person at Km claims they are re-doing the toy section at the beginning of August – so whatever that actually means? I do not know but probably 25 minutes before the store closes on the 8th (last day of promo), store might be fully stocked – good luck!)
I hope I receive a Muggsy Liftsome!

Im not sure if getting the email means anything or not. I got the email and I havent even sent in my receipt yet…
There are several emails sent. One when you place your order, acknowledging they received your order request. One when they actually received your receipts in the envelope you mailed in. One when your shipment is sent.
I still can not get to the order form part of the process!!!! Is any one else have this problem?

I ordered 10 at a time and received what looked to be the result of the Mattel Distribution Center’s “Bring Your Dog to Work and Have Them Assist in Stuffing 10 Ivan’s Into a Box Meant for 6 Day”. And then once the former NFL Punters & Placekickers now working for UPS got through with it, all I got were bent cards, crumbled blisters, and shattered dreams.
However, in spite of the fine print, Mattel sent me a prepaid return label to ship them back, and I am now eagerly awaiting my replacements.
How can you buy $200 worth of Cars from a Kmart?
Let alone Cars that are worth having?
My local Kmart got six cases of FFM. I also raided 8-10 Kmart’s in and between St. Louis and Chicago.

I don’t get ever get over there, so it must have been someone else.
I think I would have felt better if it were you. The Collinsville Kmart told me they knew nothing about the promotion, and hadn’t got any new cases in months, all while I had the only Materhosen left in my hand. That was all I saw of the case.
Ah ha! Now I know why I had to drive all the way to O’Fallon Mo. to find my maters! Fyi doch18, the Kmart in Granite City did provide me with Cartney Brakin.
I know a lot of folks are rolling the dice to get on the Muggsy train! I sent off 2 this week. Unfortunately, Kmart stores are dropping like flies around these parts (lost 2 in the last 6 weeks) and the couple that are left have NOTHING to buy. GRRRRRRRR Kmart is killing my odds to win the Muggsy contest!! LOL
