Disney PLANES: Hector Should Vector Into Your Pad
While we have not seen PLANES yet, one of the coolest characters in the film is clearly Hector Vector.
And of course, the Disney Store is already to go (he is NOT on any Mattel list).
John H. sends along great photos and has done all the scale math for us all.
First he is SOLID DIECAST METAL throughout. Other than the wheels and rotors, he is solid metal. Just like Frank or Siddeley, the Disney Store oversized vehicles are solid diecast metal. As John H notes, “the wheels turn (no folding gear), the visor go up and down, the side doors slide open and the rotors can be turned easily.”
Sweet!
So, while it would be great to get a perfect 1:55 scale, he looks good enough in proportional size next to 1:55 CARS.
Mater wishes there was a Dinoco Heli he could ride in. 🙂
Now we need some flight deck Pitty’s! 🙂
This is one instance you might want to grab one early on – as there will probably only a few production runs on Hector – there will probably be a restock around Christmas time but afterwards?
Thanks for the great photos and doing all the math for us, “John H.”
The color should be gray according to the picture. Other than that and the line going straight through the middle, he looks pretty decent. Now i want one.
he looks sad.
haha i was just going to comment the exact same thing and then i saw your comment.
A friend of mine ordered a case of these, 6 in a case, and the case said something like 1 of 600, meaning only 3,600 made? Interesting anyways
(MET: It might be true … or of that shipment … but with only about 250 stores and the website, it might be correct for now).
This looks VERY neat, but we still need the DS version of Bessie.
Hi JOHN, if you want a photo of Bessie in Box D S, I can send you
write to me at info@sedema.it
Ciao,
Hector is a great looking helicopter…thanks for the write up and the photos.
