Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS: Convoy Brother Photos
I forgot that Mariela P. & Julia B. were kind enough to represent T5 for the opening of the Petersen Museum CARS exhibit and took some great photos … including the prototypes of the Convoy Brothers …
And good news, they are not mucho mondo plastic but LOTS and LOTS of zinc! We can thank the commodity price drop of zinc so apparently, the Convoy Brothers are heavy duty RV’s much like Barry Diesel.
And I guess if you’re feeling the sniffles coming on, you can simply lick your Convoy Brothers to stave it off! This medical procedure has not been approved by the FDA …
You can read the rest of the details regarding their appearance at Disney D23 Expo this summer here.
Thanks Mariela P. & Julia B!

Love love love the exhibit coverage! It really looks like The Convoy Bros’ shells are basically the same as some of the other un-released RVs, no? Maybe Mattel really will do the right thing, and eventually give us the whole collection of RVs!! Great, great pics. By the way, whatever happened to Julia B?
Yep, they looked amazing in person 😉
How do we go about purchasing these when they come out? I would love a set for my son.
You have to contact Nascarfan and get on his list. This link should give you the info. Scroll down to find his comment.

And/or just wait for MattyCollector.com to lust them the week after the event.
IF there are any left over.
I think they listed Woody about 4 months after the event.
Yeah, I’m not risking there not being any left over. I think these are going to sell-out. Better safe than sorry.
Mattycollector had the Sub Finn D23 Exclusive, and I’d imagine that they would hold a small amount for online only just like all the SDCC Exclusives.
Thanks everyone! I sent him a email. 🙂
just because the proto types are mostly diecast does not mean mattel may not change that by the time they arrive in august.
(MET: The word is that the final pre-production “prototypes” are sold diecast – so while they won’t be cheap, at least we’re getting plenty of metal).
