Toys R Us Will Now Price Match
The main difference with Walmart is that WM will accept your word at the register. Does Target do that? TRU will require you bring in the ad. They also follow Target & WM lead that BOGO or % off deals are not price matched.
And “limited quantity” items are NOT priced match – which could mean almost anything?
Toys”R”Us and Babies”R”Us will match competitor store pricing on ALL products in our store.
Here are the guidelines:
- Price Match is valid for in-store purchases only.
- We will match all competitor store advertised prices.
- We’ll match Toysrus.com and Babiesrus.com online pricing in our stores, except for online-only prices.
- Items purchased must be identical to the items advertised (e.g., brand, color, size).
- The original, complete competitor ad, with valid dates, must be presented at time of purchase.
- Prices are matched after deducting any Toys”R”Us and/or Babies”R”Us coupon savings and other offers from our price.
- Price match is given at the time of purchase or within 7 days of purchase date with a valid receipt.
We will not match prices for competitors’:
- Category-wide or storewide discounts
- Buy One Get One with purchase offers
- Gift with purchase offers
- Percentage (%) off discounts
- Out-of-stock or limited quantity items
- Doorbuster items
- Prices advertised on Black Friday
- Internet pricing for non-baby gear items
- Coupons
The deal-breaker for Cars is “The original, complete competitor ad, with valid dates,…” part. There is rarely an advertised sale on Cars, replete with handy paper ad. They should accept the competitor’s ad if you show it to them on your pocket radio-telephone/computer. Or better yet, they know darn well their every day prices are higher than Walmart, Target and Kmart, why not just make their prices competitive rather than try to make me waste time playing some game with them?
Shame they won’t match off of receipts, as their Singles prices are 70 cents more per Car than Walmart’s and Target’s unadvertised prices.
