Mattel Disney Pixar CARS 2: Quick Changers (Not So Quick 2nd Wave)
The first wave of Quick Changers along with the “deluxe releases” came out about 4 months ago …
There is now a second wave … They have added a Quick Changers SPY snipe to jazz up the excitement …
“John H.” found the following already out – Is Rod Torque, Professor Z and Mater with Weapon* part of Wave 2? Or is there a Wave 3?
*Presumably they changed the listing of Mater with Pop Out Rockets to Mater with Pop Out Wings?
This series would a sure-fire hit if they were diecast metal but that might be asking too much …

john, thanks for these and the other pix of the plastic series Cars! Very helpful for my and my boy’s obsessive collecting!!
Sometimes when I see these on the Pegs they trick me for a second into thinking new singles came in. However I quickly realize they are the plastic quick changers that have been clogging up much space in the Cars section.
I don’t care if they change. Plastic versions of our Cars isn’t anything we want.
so both Mater with wings and Mater with guns exist? Sheez, back to ebay I go!
May I request that future checklists use readable fonts?
That Quick Changers Spy Font looks like the little rubber letters from an inkpad printers kit my wife has.
The only lines I really collect are just regular 1:55 and the Micro Drifters…
But however if we get some CARS with weapons/decals and stuff that haven’t been released yet, I would be interested (what I mean is like Hydro Finn and Holley w/ wings aren’t that cool because they’ve already been released in the mainline)
Is that an error in the first list of Quick Changers? Grem doesn’t have “knock-out teeth,” both his doors get crushed in. Nice to see Acer and Professor Z joining him in this lineup so he’s no longer the only bad guy.
I am hoping to get Acer,Holly even she doesn’t have a tail fin,and hydrafoil Finn.I don’t need Mater and I already have Finn with weapons.I don’t have the diecast of Holly with wings or hydrafoil Finn.Wasn’t there supost to be mater with weapons?I have also heard that there is supost to be a Rod,is that true?
I saw the new Quick Changers Crabby Boat the other day at Meijer… took a picture but left it on the shelf… had the first ones been like these newest singles it might have made a difference… but like others, I much prefer the diecasts.

These might be cool if they were cheaper and not identical to some of the single and deluxe characters.
I might get the Acer if I ever see it. I would get the Holley if she had a tailfin. I already have a Finn w/ weapons and a hydrofoil. I don’t remember Mater having wings.
That is because he never did.
Mater with Pop Out Rockets is pictured on the back of the Hydrofoil Finn package, it appears that the ‘driver’s’ door has a flip out panel with machine gun; smae mechanism used in Acer.
I assume Mater with pop out wings is from the short ‘Air Mater’? (but without helmet and prop)
Quick Changers Crabby Boat is in this release also.
