Mattel Disney Pixar CARS 2 Diecast: Kmart CARS Event #8 Link & Final Checklist

The CASES ONLY pre-sale will start about “a week” before in the in-store event on June 16, 2012 (no definite date or time yet – will let you know when we know).
The most important thing to note for the in-store event is the time is now 9 AM and not 11 AM as it’s been for the previous 7 times!! So, no more rambling in – you’ll have to get up at the crack of dawn – 9 AM is the crack of dawn, right? 🙂
And the final confirmation that we are only getting 6 racers + two exclusives (1 is a Chase) … and the case assortment contents count seems to be (red circle number indicates # of that CAR in the case).
No price listed for the case but $3.99 x 24?
And if the pre-sale case assortment goes on sale on the 9th or 10th, it might be cheaper and there is a coupon code for free shipping – will keep you updated.

I got all 8 cars and a poster because other than me there was only 1 person there.That poster is huge!
I will be there on this 8th and possibly final Kday. I am undecided if I want a shopping cart or a hand basket for this one. Hmmmm, I already have a shopping plan formulated. After the last event where I was the only one there buying anything it seems pointless to have a plan when I’m the sole buyer. A few people drifted in after the event started and picked up one of each car for their kids… That’s it.
I am also the one who buys the entire store inventory when it goes on super sale.. I am the only Cars collector there… lol The 2nd Kmart near my home has no one show up and they haven’t held the event at all for the last 4 events straight. I ask then about the cars event and they look at me like I’m speaking a foreign language. Then they finally find them buried in the back and the manager treats them like I only want to pull out the Super Disney T-Hunt car.. These are not hot wheels u donkey head I’m thinking.
The hot wheels guys have changed the collectors event into something else it seems.. I thought these silver cars would be like the toys r us car paint finish.. but they are not shiny, they look like a flat matt silver paint job, boring.

Remember KMarts first Cars event?? 5 new racers on a card that was a one-off for the event! Oh how times have changed, I still have the five racers from Kmart1 mint on card as there’s never been another kmart event to match and therefore trade my spare set of racers……what we have now is two Okay! Cars and a bunch of pre-released racers painted dif. If anyone ever works out why Mattel has made such a mess of a line of toys that could easily treble what they are likely to make in profits please explain, if its all a conspiracy to bring the line down then they couldn’t be doing a better job…..in other words PASS! On this event (along with many others I would think) 🙁
I tried the Kmart website and this does not come up. How did you get it to? I can see it only if I click on the above post.
I called my Kmart just a few minutes ago (Saturday 6/2, two weeks before the event) and the guy spoke with the toy manager and said that they had heard nothing of the event and to “check back the week of, like on the 11th.” Is this unreasonable? Do you think that my store is not participating in the event?
(MET: Yea, it’s KM … if he hadn’t gotten the sign or the CARS yet, he’s probably going to hold off …).
Well at least we do not have to correct them on the last events ad and car assortment on the newest ad and assortment
Dissapointing! I think Mattel has realised that having so few racers in the film and then releasing all but one was a bad mistake, so keep Rip back to keep interest in the line and release as many varients and versions of the racers instead of new moulds and cars. this line could have been way more profitable and wayyyyyy more interesting for the collector. The red car is all i would want in this whole case.
There is a “Buy 5 Silver Racers, Get a 6th FREE” sale too. It doesn’t apply to Acer w/ Torch and Celine Dephare, but I bet someone may get lucky 😉 .

9AM… ick! I may have to miss more of work than previously planned for, and for just 1 new character to purchase….
I’m with Met. 9am, yikes! It’s hard enough for the Kmart clerks to have the thing going by 11.
Bet that is another typo, like years past was.
9 am is what people were told who asked at their store.

Future peg warmers on the silver cars. Mattel did this several years ago with Hot Wheels.
1) Why does Mattel always insist on giving us the most of the least desirable Cars? Seriously, 2/3 of this case consists of Lightning, Francesco, Raoul, and Jeff!
2) I am still wondering where Rip Clutchgoneski with rubber tires is, let alone plain ol’ Rip and even silver Rip.
3) As a Shop Your Way Rewards member, I was lucky enough to receive an email offer for FREE unlimited shipping for a 90-day period. They typically sell this for $79.00, but their offer was a one-time fee of $0.79 which js 99% off! THEN, they let me spend 79¢ in SYWR points to get the shipping totally free. Now I just hope their order fulfillment will be as nice!
The case assortment is why I decided not to preorder this time.
No way do I need 6 Mcqueens, maybe for in store its great but not for me, so I will depend on friends to help me get 2 of each car.

Guessing the obvious, Kmart day 9 to include the remaining racers. What will the furture hold? If Kmart has produced all the racers in cars1&2, then if there’s a day 10, what could it be? I’m concerned…….

Oh geez, it’s probably a good thing Kmart just does the Rubber Soul Cars collector events, could you imagine a Revolver Collectors Event???
Well they ARE doing the 6th (bullet) for free, then they will have to do the 6 (shot) Rubber Soul – Revolver Rubber tires set
