No Disney Pixar CARS? Mattel Too Busy on DreamWorks Turbo Snail Diecasts?
Coming NEXT July (2013) is Dreamworks Animation, “Turbo.”
“This animated tale will be told through an ordinary garden snail who, through a freak accident, gains incredible speed. He decides to pursue winning the Indianapolis 500 to follow in the path of his hero, five-time race winner Guy Gagne.
The project is being done in conjunction with IndyCar and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, a first-of-its-kind collaboration. Izod IndyCar Series driver Dario Franchitti has agreed to be a consultant.”
Yep, Mattel is working on diecasts …
I do not know if this world is populated by many other snail car hybrids? Or it’s just him – er, collect ’em all – should I put you down for 625 diecasts?

lol, is everyone in this thread a drama queen on steroids ?
Its a simple movie, great graphics, almost classic story line from what I can see. I called a few distributors and they predict a moderate start with a surprise in consumer following.
I am still stuck with Star Wars, so i dont think collecting is the property as much as it is the economy

I’m sure Planes and Toons will take a backseat to this movie. They are only straight to dvd and not a major motion picture.
I’d imagine that the only reason this was made was to sell merchandise. Gag.
Yeah that’s what I will do: collect another line of Mattel diecasts.
This way I can look forward to another line not getting finished, be promised cars in collectors guides that are never actually made and go long stretches of time with nothing new coming out for months on end.
Hopefully the case assortment will be just like Cars 2 also so I have a year or two to pick up the original characters that are packed in all first 8 cases.
Start another Mattel collection- Not! No way, Not ever again. Collecting a Mattel line once is more than enough for me to know I for one would never go down that road again.

Maybe they’ll recall all the Francesco’s and modify them for this movie’s toys.
