Google Street View Now includes the Amazon (the River)
Pretty cool – now traverse down the Amazon and check out the nearly 360 degree view from the comforts of your work chair.
“… Our Brazil and U.S. Street View and Google Earth Outreach teams were invited to the Amazon Basin to collect ground-level images of the rivers, forest and communities in the Rio Negro Reserve.”
You can check it out via Google Maps Online or via the download-able Google Earth v6.0 (different perspective).
The MAKING OF VIDEO:
Of course, now there’s a better way to travel the actual Amazon …
It looks rough but I can probably stand it for a week.
I bet that would make a great Lego houseboat or floating hotel. 🙂
The amazon is a street?
so cool…but a poalrizing lens would reduce the reflections on the water…might make it a bit nicer…
This is how they got all that footage for “the River tv show 🙂
So THAT’S why they’ve never finished 100% of the United States!
