Fun site – FlyPanAm Posterous – with lots of photos and ads of the iconic Pan Am and when flying was just a little glamorous and fewer strip searches (unless you requested one). 🙂

    Fascinating to read about these. Sounds like air travel used to be somewhat enjoyable. I bet it was ridiculously expensive though.

    Those were the days…

    My wife and I have been to Hawaii once… we hit turbulence leaving LA and were not allowed out of our seats until we’d landed in Hawaii, hours later.

    I hope we can go back… and if we do, I’d definitely look into upgrading to First Class… with all the money I’m saving by not having new Mattel Cars to buy, that might be possible…

    Interesting how flight times have changed. The double decked clipper advertised a time travel from LA to Hawaii in 9.5 hours……tdays trip is 5 hrs. 10 minutes. ahhhh, the inovation of commerical use jet turbines 🙂
