Mattel Disney Pixar CARS Diecast: Toyfair 2012 Diecast Singles
Nothing too revealing … but it’s still nice to see closer to production models versus long-ago prototypes …
The biggest reveal is Lightning McQueen’s Biggest Fan …
And his name-o is …
If you bet on Cartney Brakin, you win.
He is the little dude in the Lightning McQueen Pop Up Shop who faints upon seeing the real LM.
I guess there was the whole copyright issue if he was called Paul Pikachu.
Also revealed is the first Ultimate Super Chase, Flash.
I’m not exactly sure why they felt they needed to paint in windows “indicators.” Not a very Swedish design …
And hey, the sign says NOW though the earliest arrival seems to be around the beginning of March …
And the Mini Cooper – Becky Wheelin – does not seem to be a particular British name …
There were also some oversized CARS shown but nothing you had not already seen, but more pics coming tomorrow.
Thanks “Hang on Sloopy!”

Looks like no expense was spared on the plastic sign holders and xeroxed signs…
(MET: Well, technically they did not print up signs and holders for ALL the CARS displayed … 😆 ).
Haha…yeah, Mattel is definitely going all-in with Cars 2.
Out near you in 2013… maybe… 😀
Such a small singles display… maybe Cars II line is about to go out or something.. have to wait to SDCC and see what they’ll put on display 🙁
I’m brakin’ for Cartney Brakin! But… I’m actually missing the final lap days when we would see entire cases full of new mainline characters. I’m not pleased to be “chasing” every single new Car, regardless of its label as “Chase” or not. Manifold Jr. loves Cartney’s scene in Cars 2. I’ll be looking forward to this release., but will gladly pass on the Super Chase repaints.
I am sorry to see this, VERY disappointed in Mattel’s showing at one of the biggest Toy Shows of the year. They seemed to be more occupied with their WWE line then CARS
McQueen fan is small but cute. Sure it will be highly sought after. The Super chase looks hideous though. Between the really cheap looking plastic rims and the fake painted over windows it is not worthy of being a special car. Doesn’t compare to most of the original Piston cup racers. Of course by calling it a super chase and limiting supply that will create a made up market for it.
Guess I probably won’t be getting any Super chases. No way am I going to be running around to multiple stores looking for them. Those days are mostly over. Especially since my son would rather we play catch nowadays than go cars hunting.
Cartney Brakin is pretty cool! Hope to find a bunch of the Mini’s. I have an Uncle who races in a Mini Cooper. I have my fingers crossed that I’ll find at least one Super Chase in a store!
Looks good at the Toy Show, will look better on store shelves and best in our collection!
Need new cars. We opened Mel Dorado last night. I think I have one other car that we haven’t opened yet. It will be the first time since we started collecting two years ago we haven’t had anything to open. Come on and get these new singles to the stores.
The Mcqueen fan is nicely done.
