Burning Down the Goat (Literally – Not Euphemism)
Every year, in the Swedish town of Glave, every year since 1966, they build a giant goat and take bets whether it gets light up like a giant, giant pile of twigs (which it is) …
“Half of the people take pride in the giant animal, while the other half take equal pride in attempting to burn it down. To date, the goat has been burnt down more times than it has survived the Christmas period.”
Gee, I cannot understand why more towns don’t follow this tradition. I cannot imagine anything would go wrong with this in a college-town square or next to a soccer stadium. 🙂
You can read more about it at THELOCAL.
A well placed fiery arrow to the knee will take care of that goat.
I almost got through the whole article. Then I got distracted by the Ryanair crew calendar to the right. Now that’s neat. 🙂
Neat!
