Disney Pixar CARS 2 Diecasts: Takara Tomy Checklist (Video Link)
If you’re collecting the Japanese Takara Tomy CARS 2 diecasts, here’s your checklist.
While these are 1:64 in scale, they all diecast metal – no plastic front plates and skimping on metal – they are rock solid and HEAVY.
The “re-release” series.
The CARS 1 CARS seem a little off kilter in their size and design – maybe it’s because we’re used to the 1:55 scale here but the CARS 2 CARS seem more fitting in the 1:64 scale either because of better sculpts or just more appropriate design.
They also have a nice launcher display box with built in launcher.

I live in Japan and I would be happy to pick any of these Tomica Cars toys up for people at what the store price is.
Warning though shipping is expensive .
what is the store price, these are really cool and I might have to splurge on them
usually they are about 700 yen, but there is sales sometimes ( for the individual cars ) the launchers I think is about 1300 yen, I forget. So whatever the exchange rate of that , on the day some one buys them for you. You can find currency exchange /translation rates easily on the web.
Those look pretty nice. I wonder if they are manufactured in Japan, or imported from China like Mattel’s stuff.
If there are any T5ers in Japan, I would be happy to trade some of my Mattels for your Tomys!

(MET: Not really – the best deals are probably eBay HK unless you can find someone to buy them for you in Japan – The pricing I’ve seen on auctions are fair deals but shipping can be costly. Check back tomorrow for some very cool playsets).

These are cool. I have a Tokyo Mater that I really like. The professor Z is huge tho, compared to the rest. Its almost like instead of making them to scale, they make them all to use the same amount of material, ha. The expressions are not quite as nice as the Mattel but they are more detailed. Its too bad they are much harder to find. I have had a friend get some in Japan for me, they are pretty expensive on ebay.
