Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS 2: Hydraulic Ramone – Jump Around (Update Pic)
Thanks for the early sneak peek pics, “SlicePie.”
Scheduled for CASE F – anyone spot Nigel as a single?
Yes, he will be part of the Kmart case going on pre-sale next Sunday at 10 AM Pacific time.
And the open prototype … sans ‘Low ‘n Slow’ branded tires.
Now to wait another 3 years for the no-diecut card version. 🙂
UPDATE: “Charles C.” has found Nigel also – nice!

Ladies & Gentlecars,
Yes my old team of 3 did this one over 2.5 years ago. Sure, I also wanted him to be able to move up/down with spring loaded shocks but could not afford it.
We actually built one at a larger scale that would have been dope, but the Genius’s didn’t want it 🙁
Much of my old product continues to appear……..see you guys.
You do great work!! Glad to see that some of it is still getting out to us! hope all is well with you. We certainly miss your influence!! 🙂
Ramone will look great teamed up with Mini and Van!
SWEET!
Met, I didn’t think to take any pics of Nigel. I’ll snag some tonight and send them over.
Oh, and both Hydraulic Ramone and Nigel Gearsley singles are in Case F. 3 of each. Case L is now arriving as well.
I remember seeing this on Martin A.’s desk during my mattel visit.
Finally it is out
I’m already planning ‘the great case change-up for Summer 2011’ right here. Adding Ramone with his other incarnations is going to cause a major, 3-level shake-up that may move Doc down to level 4, in order to keep Filmore and Sarge together. Sally may move up to level 2, though.
The Great Case Change-Up, nice! One for the history books… er history e-books. Are you going to collect the Cars 2 Tokyo cars to add to your Tokyo Mater collection?
Man-I, only if they relate to an appearance in Tokyo Mater. As tempting as that little Zen-guy in the Mater 2-pack was, I am bypassing him.
I also bypassed the more Deluxe “Red” that came out. He’s definitely bigger, but I’d then have to separate the big guy from the rest of the RS gang due to him being unable to fit in the tiny space.
Ah, well hopefully some of the forthcoming Tokyo characters will cross over. See ya
I already have our Tokyo Mater cars sitting on the shelf next to where our Cars 2 cars are going to go. I just need to keep the Cars 1 cars separate from the Cars 2 cars. You have seen Timecop right? Can’t let Cars 1 McQueen touch Cars 2 McQueen.
I think I will display Red and Hydraulic Ramone with our Cars 1 cars instead of Cars 2 cars.
That may work since they effectively belong to CARS 1, but what will happened if McQueen from Cars 1 face McQueen from CARS 2??? Is one of them will vanish??? 😉
Heh heh, for sure! Another question is if Cars 2 McQueen will vanish off the store shelves any time soon.
The same matter can’t occupy the same space at the same time, so if they touch each other, they will both cease to exist. Can’t take the chance of that happening.
Strangely they CAN occupy the same space in a TRU aisle. Maybe it sits on the edge of a black hole of Cars1 & 2 overstock.
I know you’re joking around.
The reality is mater and antimater particles destroy each other
Heh heh! “Mater/Anti-Mater.” Great! We’ve gotta get John in MO or Quercy to sketch this out.

the Mater with Anti Mater
Thanks, that was really well done. Now we need a story with “Mater” not “matter.” 🙂
TOTALLY WICKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cannot wait to have my avatar!! 😀
Im excited 🙂
Awesome sweet!!! Need we say more?!?!?
Yes Nigel has been found in a single pack. I found him yesterday at my local Hobby Town. I love Ramone though.
So, like, maybe this is a stupid question, but I’ve been assuming he goes up and down. Or is he just stagnant, just as he sits in the package?
He does not move up and down. I thought that would be a cool feature but I would assume they didn’t want him to be broke easy.
Wow, what a shame. I’ll have to see if I can customize him with some Low Riderz I picked up a few years ago with this idea in mind!
If you do let me know. Email me Ridahgraphix@gmail.com I would be very interested.
I just hope this one at least rolls!
Manifold Jr. assumed that he would go up and down when he saw the prototype pic. Hope he loves him anyway, as he’ll be our main purchase that day. I like your idea John. Were Low Riderz the same size as Mattel Cars?
So it souhld be rename “Hydraulic Ramone Hi” rather than “Hydraulic Ramone Hi and Lo”… 🙂
Not Mattel, but the Ramone plastic wind up car, mfg for Mcdonalds in 2006 still works perfect.
The front raises and lowers about 6 times before rewinding.
Yep, we still have all of those. I think there were something like 38 total variations of the 8 to 10 characters they released. They are a little larger than 1:55 scale too, very nicely sized.
10 days and we will have this!
any pin striping underneath?
So glad to see this one! I may need a dozen of these so I can customize ALL my ramones to “Low-And-Slow”!
