Mattel Disney Pixar Diecast CARS 2: Kmart CARS Day #6 Checklist
Well, the Mayans were incredibly precise that on this date, the Animal Kingdom would rise up … but ultimately lose the Preakness to Shackleford …UNCANNY!
And that Sears.com would randomly post information on a great air-heaven communication manner but be warned to not too closely listen to a blue light message from false idols, your soul may fall into your maize … or maybe you will get an thermos instead … it’s hard to interpret these things … much like a UPC – you just never know what might be delivered to you.
But just in case you don’t believe EVERYTHING from a certain company in the state of ILL-EWW-NOISE … here’s a checklist.
I don’t know the actual case assortment breakdown but I made a big box space so you could fill it in.
* Note – the photos above are NOT of the rubber tire versions coming on June 25 but remarkably similar.

Now back to the running in the streets, general panic and the burning of sealed cases.

Man, those real Apple cars just doubled in price ….again !
Well, at least I don’t have to worry about getting my shift covered this time. Sigh.
Between Lorri and I, we got you covered. Go get paid, we will knock out the Cars thang for you.
I can assume we will all be piling up as many Ramones as possible. I truly am shocked that we have seen no sign of a Chase car yet… Takes a lot of the fun out of the collecting thing, but does restore a balance to the force. When just about every store is stocked to the gills with the same stuff, it does make collecting an easy (and very part-time) chore. No complaints out of me … yet …
I guess I am in the minority on this case where I actually like the assortment. It is not the best, but it does have the ones needed to for the rubber tire SOTS, minus Apple car of course. It does have High Low Ramone which is cool and rubber tire cars from the new movie. I guess Mattel has brainwashed me into liking anything that they give us.
The pics on the sears site does show different cars, but you can’t count on that either. Oh well I will most likely go and purchase more than I should as usual.
Manifold Jr. and I will definitely be going. I’ll try not to buy any Cars2 racers, as we already have 2 of each between various launchers, 4-packs and singles, but I ‘ll leave it up to the kid’s desire. Hi-Lo Ramone definitely makes it worth the trip. It will also be cool to have a rubber tire Cars 1 McQueen with a gloss finish, so long as they do these right. That older rubber tyre McQueen from the 3-pack had kind of a semi-gloss finish.

The King and Chick Hicks are still HUGE in Europe, so I’ll buying a ton for overseas buddies.
And to complete the collection (or at least 97.22% of it), I will have to buy a bunch of McQueens as well.
I don’t see myself getting any Cars 2 singles unless these same buddies ask for them.
See you hopefully there. Yeah, ramone is the only cool thing, but I might just end up getting the rest.
Following Kmart Collector Day tradition, we’ll see 2-3 of each Racer. My money is on:

This is the perfect strategy for Kmart. Why release any really good cars on the movie’s opening weekend? Just ride the coattails into the summer and then for the fall event, release the cars that everybody really wants, and give people an excuse to come in your store and start Christmas shopping. Absolutely brillant!
There might be some merit to this school of thought if Kmart day 7 in the fall was any good but they will mess that one up too.
No it’s not good stadegy on Kmarts behalf. Just another wasted opportunity by a third rate retailer.
Only the ones that personally like Kmart or who are way to easily satisfied with this assortment.
Bottom line- not one new car. Just variations of already released ones. Anyone who believes that that’s what a collector day should be about simply doesnt get it or is in the denial.
As a parent of an actual child collector I can tell you what does it for them (and me) is to get brand new cars. They could care less about tire material unless they don’t roll well. Which has been the case with some rubber tire racers. Another Ramone is going to really get it done either. Maybe a Ramone with missle launcher but K no so smart mart needs to put in a couple new to market cars or not bother.

I just notice on the link to the old kmart post, rhe kmart poster is using the cars 2 DESIGN. Is anyone else seeing this????

I, for one, am excited for this Event. I refuse to preorder this time!!
I seriously think they must stop the KMart days… There is nothing special anymore to underline them. Especially if you can do pre-order online… Where is the fun to have a ticket to be the first one to pick if all the cars are availbale in the same store months after that day? The poster? What is the value if they don’t even release them all… Try to explain to the kids why he won’t get Shiny Wax and Mater with Cones…. I don’t care about the false hope they give to collectors… But it make me sad for the kids who are still waiting….
The only thing/car that would make this an exciting event is if the Apple car were to be available. Then you might see rioting in the streets.
Otherwise, I predict another ho-hum event with all Cars available well after the weekend.
If Sears is involved, does that make more cars avaiable to both chains or are they just spreading the same amount that they had for Cars day 5 a bit thinner for the Kmart stores?

Last time my Kmart had 4 master cases and I was the only customer.
(MET: It seems that many Sears have always got a case or two – either a few days or after – they have never actually held an actual event so I don’t imagine stock will change by much per store … but also keep in mind that this will during CARS 2 opening weekend so little kids will be much more excited …).

Just wanted to let everyone know that the kmart has the 2- 2pks exclusive cars for order on their website (DO NOT ORDER )!!!! They are once again the wrong pictures. I order them through site to store & went to pick them up today & they were the 2pks from may 16 th !! They guy at the store said “sorry but they scanned” !! I wanted to smack him in the face at that point !! He had 2 pks rod/grem & mcqueen/francesco in the bag!! That is the crappiest store I have ever been to. Nothing but problems everytime I go there. If it was not for the cars I would never shop there again!! My son was very dissapointed !!! WASTE OF TIME & GAS !!

I agree with several others. The only cars that we will be getting is Nigel and Shu. I am very disappointed in this event. 🙁

I believe that these will be available around the world in some fashion. I saw Kmart Cars available a couple of years ago in New Zealand at the Warehouse when I visited, around the same time as the US. Warehouse is the NZ version of Walamrt. Oddly, Kmart NZ had no Kmart exclusives there. go figure.
This will be the first Kmart event where I have not ordered multiple cases in advance… I’ll be glad to finish my Cars 1 rubber tire racer set (I have a custom Apple with rubber tires)… there should be plenty of Cars available at stores… here’s hoping they release some of the racer/crew chief 2 packs at the event as well.
I am with you also Chris. I made a custom RT Apple from a Shifty Drug RT and BD Apple. I only purchased one preorder case assortment and turned out correct, but these were on the pegs forever.

This will be the first Kmart day we will NOT be going to. Lame. Totally lame.
This will only be the third Kmart day may son and I have been to and we are only going to buy one car. Hydraulic (Hi and Low) Ramone. At least there will be a cool movie we can go see for the second time afterwards! Here’s to hoping Kmart day 7 will more than make up for this one.

Let me be one of the first to say, not a very impressive case assortment. While it will be nice to finish up (almost) the Cars 1 racers w/soft tires, nothing else about this case excites me. Still, a nice stop on the way to the movie!
